The fast development of science and technology has led to the rapid consumption of conventional energy.The energy crisis brought the renewable energy to the public attention.As an indispensable renewable energy,wind energy has received enough attention recently and has been strongly promoted by many countries.However,due to the land constraint,wind turbines are gradually installed near the residential area.Although wind energy is clean,zero-carbon and considered as environmentally friendly,wind turbines can produce extra ambient noise which is potentially harmful to humans and animals.At present,the research on the effect of wind turbine position on wind farm noise propagation is not mature.Therefore,how to find the appropriate layout of wind farms in the planned area with minimum noise radiation is a very important issue,which can strengthen people's willing of living with wind farms.In this paper,the following work has been done in terms of blade element momentum(BEM)theory,numerical simulation of wind turbine wake,numerical simulation of noise propagation of a single wind turbine and numerical simulation of noise propagation of wind farms.More detailed content of this paper are as follows:1.The progress of noise propagation in wind farms is worldwidely introduced and studied,and the possible health problems caused by noise are briefly explained.2.This paper analyzes the aerodynamic characteristics of blade by using BEM theory,the Jensen wake model is introduced to compute wind farm wake.The typical Nibe-B wind turbine's wake is analyzed with the help of MATLAB.3.The noise sources of wind turbine are introduced in this report,and the sound power level of the NREL 5-MW wind turbine operating at 6 kinds of wind speed is analyzed by a self-developed software:NoiseGen.4.PE method is also introduced to calculate the attenuation of noise propagation.And the noise propagation of a single wind turbine is simulated by MATLAB.5.In this work,two kinds of classical wind farm layouts are designed and their noise is calculated.And the effect of wake on noise propagation is compared and analyzed.The results show that changing the position of the wind turbine will change the sound pressure level of the wind farm.In contrast,the sound pressure level of wind farm considering wake effect is lower than that of wind farm without wake.Finally,the noise propagation of an existing wind farm is simulated by the mentioned method,and the result can provide reference for detecting wind farm's sound pressure level or optimizing wind farm noise.
