The rapid urbanization leads to a constant growth of street lamps.However,the monitoring and intelligent control of the traditional street lamp are difficult to be realized.So,it is necessary to make the present control system of street lamps intelligent and automatic.A hierarchical structure is proposed to realize the intelligent control system,which comprises two layers.The first layer adopts the GPRS wireless communication technology,and the second layer employs the power line carrier communication.The street lamp control system includes four parts: cloud server,centralized control terminal,sub-terminal and relay terminal.Compared with traditional street lamps,the design of this paper can achieve remote control,status monitoring,brightness adjustment and data collection of any street lamps or neighborhood in the system.This street lamp control network system can improve the energy-saving and management efficiency,moreover it can be applied to the existing high-pressure sodium lamps.The demand of modern city for street lamp control system is investigated,the overall design of the system is presented by analyzing the shortcomings of the existing street lamp control system.On the basis of the communication data flow,the control command is designed according to the Modbus-RTU communication protocol.At last,the various functional modules of the communication system are tested,and each part of this system ran normally,which meets the design requirements.
