At present,innovation has become an important driving force of urban development.How to accurately measure and analyze the spatial distribution characteristics and trends of urban innovation activities is of great significance for the scientific implementation of the development planning of innovation space.Hangzhou is in a leading position in the pattern of urban innovation in China.However,statistics in recent years show that the ranking of Hangzhou’s urban innovation competitiveness shows a downward trend.Based on this,through the spatial precise positioning of 287,000 pieces of patent authorization data of Hangzhou during 2008 to 2017,this paper applies SDE,KDE and spatial autocorrelation and other methods to study the spatial-temporal distribution and evolution characteristics of urban innovation activities in Hangzhou,providing support for the implementation of the innovation development plan and the better promotion of Hangzhou’s innovation development.The results show that:(1)In terms of the data scale,the innovation activities in Hangzhou show the characteristics of slow growth and the evolution process of”diffusion first-convergence later" in the spatial distribution.(2)The spatial distribution pattern of innovation activities in Hangzhou has an evolutionary trend from single-core scattered distribution to multi-core fragmented clustering,and clustering along the Qiantang River and the west of the city is the future development trend(3)Different types of innovation activities show different location choices and spatial-temporal evolution trends within the city,and the main urban area is the main area where all kinds of innovation activities are concentrated and distributed(4)The spatial distribution of all kinds of universities and transportation arteries and the relevant policies and plans of urban innovation development have an important influence on the spatial distribution and agglomeration development of innovation activities.(5)It is of great significance to implement the stock optimization construction and strengthen the multi-center and fragmented distribution pattern in the core area of the city for the innovative and sustainable development of the city.
