In recent years,in order to solve the problem of renewal and expansion of underground pipelines and improve the utilization of underground space,China has promoted the construction of utility tunnel.For utility tunnel project,leakage problem is one of the most important problems,and the deformation joints of utility tunnel are often the weak points of leakage problems.In the deformation joint of utility tunnel,the rubber waterstop is a common waterproof measure.However,the research on the deformation capacity of rubber waterstop is deficient in China.Through the nonlinear analysis of ABAQUS,this paper studies the stress and deformation capacity of the common rubber waterstop in the deformation joint of utility tunnel under the deformation conditions of shearing,stretching and compressing.It puts forward the optimization suggestions of the size of middle hole through making optimization to the size of middle hole in the expansion ring of waterstop.By adjustment of the section shape of the expansion ring and expanding width of partial deformation joint,this paper explores the effect improvement on the deformation capacity of rubber waterstop.According to the construction quality problems of deformation joint of utility tunnel,this paper proposes the structural innovation of deformation joint with rigid splicing and "flexible" prefabricated part by combining with the prefabricated technology.The results show that the common rubber waterstop can adapt to the deformation of shearing 21mm,or stretching 13mm,or compressing 11mm in the deformation joint,and the deformation capacity of rubber waterstop can be improved to a certain extent by optimizing the size of middle hole in the expansion ring.By adjustment of the section shape of the expansion ring and expanding width of partial deformation joint,the adaptability of waterstop to stretching and differential settlement on both sides of deformation joint of utility tunnel can be greatly improved.Combined with the analysis results,some suggestions about the deformation capacity of waterstop are given for engineering application in this paper.
