Urban transportation is an important foundation for economic development.However,with the rapid economic development,the motorization rate is increasing year by year,which has made the contradiction between supply and demand of road resources more serious.The timing control of traffic signals not only fails to resolve this contradiction,it may even exacerbate the problem of traffic congestion caused by imbalance between supply and demand.Under this background,this article designs a traffic signal intelligent network control system.First,it collects real-time video image information of multiple intersections in the area,obtains vehicle flow data through image processing,and then intelligent optimization algorithm is used to optimize the signal timing of multiple intersections,to obtain the best solution.Finally,the dynamic regulation of the regional traffic signal timing is achieved to reduce the total regional delay.The specific research contents are as follows:The system is divided into two parts: host computer and lower computer.The host computer performs image processing on the received video images,detects vehicles and makes statistics,then uses the improved firefly algorithm to optimize the regional timing problem.After finding the optimal solution,the host computer transmits the timing plan to the lower computer for control.Aiming at the shortcomings of the firefly algorithm that it is easy to fall into the local optimum,the mutation operation and the dispersal mechanism are introduced for improvement.Different standard test functions are used to prove the effectiveness and reliability of the improved firefly algorithm.At the same time,the improved algorithm is applied to the optimal timing of regional traffic signals.The experimental results show that the total delay of regional traffic flow has decreased significantly.The lower computer uses field programmable gate array(FPGA)and single chip microcomputer to simulate an intersection control machine.FPGA designs the camera driving module,the image compression module and the Ethernet transmission module,collects the video image through the external camera,and uses the Ethernet to transmit the image code stream after the image compression.The single-chip microcomputer drives the digital tube display module to display the signal light time,and combines the light-emitting diode(LED)to simulate the complete function of actual traffic lights.When the lower computer is working,the video image is collected and uploaded to the host computer,and then the signal time of each intersection is adjusted according to the instructions downloaded by the host computer,finally the intelligent control of the regional traffic signal is realized.
