The gas-lubricated foil journal bearing is a new type of bearing with broad application prospects,which has been used in many high-speed rotating machinery,such as automobile turbochargers,turboexpanders,and aircraft air circulation systems.However,the design of these application products mainly relies on experimental analysis,resulting in higher development cycle and development cost,which is not conducive to product upgrading.The reason is that the supporting arch foil of the gas-lubricated foil journal bearing has a strong coupling effect with the gas film pressure,and the strong transmission between its own structure,coupled with the existence of Coulomb friction,makes the entire problem a strong nonlinear coupling.The problem greatly increases the difficulty of calculation.This paper first uses the finite difference method to solve the Reynolds equation,simulates the static performance and dynamic performance of the rigid surface dynamic pressure gas bearing,and discusses the main factors affecting the bearing performance and the law of action.Provide the necessary foundation.Then,the shell element model supporting the arch foil structure was established in ABAQUS,and the deformation of the arch foil was coupled with the gas film pressure to obtain the gas film pressure distribution of the gas-lubricated foil journal bearing,the deformation distribution of the support arch foil structure and the static performance parameters.And discuss the factors that affect the static performance:eccentricity and number of bearings.Comparing the performance of the two gas bearings,the comparison results show that the gas-lubricated foil journal bearing has high eccentricity,low friction torque,large gas mass flow rate,better adaptability and lower energy loss.Finally,using the small disturbance method,the dynamic performance of the gas-lubricated foil journal bearing is solved on the basis of static characteristics,and its influencing factors and action rules are analyzed.The static and dynamic characteristics of the two gas bearings are compared,and the advantages of the gas-lubricated foil journal bearing and the reasons for their advantages are analyzed.
