The liquid crystal zoom lens is another important application in the field of display since the discovery of liquid crystal materials.Especially liquid crystal micro-lens is a typical micro-optical element with small,thin thickness,ease of integration,the advantages of fast response[1],and in the light well like,microfluidic sensors,precision photoelectric system,light motor system,biomedical,photonics,adaptive optics,and so on many fields has a broad application value[2 to 5].In order to obtain the electronic control zoom lens and microlens with many advantages such as small driving voltage,large zoom range,miniaturization of overall volume and fast response speed,many research institutions at home and abroad have done a lot of research.This article mainly through innovative design of the structure of the micro liquid crystal zoom lens and change the micro electrode structure to obtain can improve a wide range of lens zoom,low voltage driver and response speed of the new type liquid crystal zoom lens,and by using finite element analysis of a new type of liquid crystal zoom lens modeling simulation to study the zoom of its good performance.The main research contents are briefly summarized as follows:The first chapter is a brief introduction to the background significance of the research topic and the research status at home and abroad.In the chapter 2,the classification of liquid crystal materials,various physical properties and the principle of zoom lens are analyzed in detail,and a sound theoretical basis is established to provide a solid theoretical basis for the subsequent work.In Chapter 3,based on a lot of reading and research on the liquid crystal zoom lens of the predecessors,in view of the shortcomings in the research,innovatively proposed three new structures of liquid crystal zoom micro-lenses,the main innovation is the change In the past,square or uneven liquid crystal was poured into the cavity,and the cavity was changed to an arc columnar shape and a uniform spherical shell shape,so that the distribution of liquid crystal can be better regulated,and the liquid crystal molecules can have a certain preset angle in the initial state.In this way,it can achieve a certain zoom performance at zero voltage: the second is to change the structure of the common round hole electrode in the past,and propose a spherical shell-shaped round hole electrode to optimize the electric field distribution of the lens and make the lens more compact.Practical application.Chapter 4 carries out finite element modeling simulation analysis experiments on the innovative liquid crystal micro-lens proposed in Chapter 3,to verify the superior performance of the proposed liquid crystal zoom micro-lens.In the simulation experiment,the experiment verified that the new zoom micro-lens at the modeled size achieved a zoom function with a focal length of 573.44?m at 0 voltage.With continued increase in voltage,the lens achieved a change from the original 573.44?m It is a zoom range of 968.82?m;the idea of changing the curvature radius of the spherical liquid crystal cavity to change the initial preset angle of the liquid crystal molecules is further proposed.It is verified through simulation experiments that a good zoom is also achieved.In chapter 5,summary the whole work and looks forward to the future work.
