The air filter is the first barrier of engine filtration system.On the premise of meeting the flow rate and filtration efficiency,reducing the resistance loss of air filter as much as possible and increasing the air intake volume are of great significance for improving the performance of air filter and increasing the working efficiency of engine.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the convection of various structural parameters of air filter through numerical calculation and simulation It is necessary to design the air filter model with small flow resistance loss,strong air flow uniformity,longer service life and simpler structure.The shape of the air filter element is studied by the method of three-dimensional numerical simulation and simulation test.The porous media model is used to replace the filter element,and the reasonable simplification and assumption are made for the flow problem of the air filter.The simple algorithm is used to discretize the differential equation,and the wall function method is used to deal with the wall flow action.The research results show that: under the same working condition,the flow resistance loss of V-shaped filter element is the lowest,the velocity impact force is small,and the flow uniformity is the best.V-shaped filter element can be used as the best filter element shape of air filter,and increasing the outlet diameter can reduce the flow resistance loss properly.The results show that the theoretical calculation value is slightly less than the resistance value of the simulation test results,and the overall trend is consistent,which verifies the feasibility of the simulation test.The increase of pleats can increase the filtering area and the flow resistance of air filter.When the pleats of filter element are 50-60,the air flow uniformity is strong and the number of vortex is small,which can be used as the selection range of pleats of filter element;The three-dimensional simulation of other structural parameters of the air filter is carried out.The results show that: under the premise of the overall structure unchanged,the flow resistance value decreases first and then increases with the increase of the inner and outer diameter of the filter element.The inner and outer diameter of the filter element is 170-150 mm,which makes the flow resistance loss of the air cleaner lowest and the flow distribution more uniform;the flow resistance loss and the pleat of the filter element are high The filter pleat height can be changed according to the actual flow demand.The results show that compared with the original air filter,the flow resistance loss of the optimized air filter model is reduced by 98.34%,the air flow uniformity is enhanced,the eddy current strength is reduced,and the air intake is increased.The optimized air filter model is more in line with the gas flow characteristics.
