Military vehicles play a significant role in modern warfare, which highly depends on tractive performance under multiple operating conditions. As the development of combat mode and environment, the research on tractive performance of military vehicles driven on ice also demands increasing concentration. As existing researches on military vehicles tire lack high calculation accuracy, comprehensive operating condition prediction and feasible of experiment,a ice-tire interaction mode combined with tire FEM model on tractive performance of military vehicles driven on ice is researched in this paper.Following are the major aspects:1.Ice-tire interaction mechanism research is conducted.Considering that the existing theories lack consideration of patterned tire friction mechanism, based on basic theory of heat conduction and tire geometric parameter, this paper conducts experiment of patterned rubber specimen on ice and draw dynamic friction curve under different patterns. Therefore, existing ice-tire friction theory is modified and calculation accuracy is improved, contributing to the modeling analysis on the tractive performance of military vehicles on ice.2.Ice-tire interaction FEM simulation modules and experimental study is conducted.Based on modified Ice-tire friction formula, this paper carries out secondary development of ABAQUS FEM software using Python, writing ice-tire friction formula into interaction properties and creating an ice-tire interaction module. In addition, tractive performance experiment of standard test wheel under horizontal straight line operation is carried out based on ice-tire experimental platform, which verifies the accuracy of ice-tire interaction module.3.Numerical modeling and simulating for tractive performance of military vehicles under multi-operation conditions on ice is conducted. Finally, simulation model of ice-tire tractive performance is established based on ice-tire interaction module and 305/80R20 BTR tire FEM model.Through simulating multi-operation conditions including and turning, the paper researches on the changing rules of drawbar pull and torque under different slip rates and conclude the tractive performance of military vehicles under multi-operation conditions, which provides basis for fast assessment of passing ability of military vehicles on ice.
