In today's battlefield, the trafficability of tracked vehicles, which is the core technical index of military vehicle mobility and directly related to the mobility and viability of tracked vehicles, plays a vital role.Focusing on our army's operational needs in desert areas in the future,it is particularly important to study the performance of tracked vehicles in sandy soil environment.Whether the structure design of the track is reasonable or not will affect the traction performance of the tracked vehicle directly.Aiming at the problem of evaluating the performance of the tracked vehicle in sandy soil environment, this paper analyzed the Wheel-Soil Interaction Theory, explored the influencing factors of the traction performance of a single track, optimized the structural parameters of the track, and proposed a better track structure.1)The Crawler-Soil Interaction Theory is analyzed.Based on the theory of Vehicle Ground Mechanics, the mathematical model of the track is derived by comprehensively considering the stress of the bottom and both sides of the track, etc.By comparing the characteristics of the interaction between the wheel and the track with ground, the arrangement of different types of ground pressure is discussed, and the relationship between the ground pressure of the track and the parameters of the running system is studied. What's more, based on the Principle of Conservation of Energy, the calculation method of wheel stab effect is improved, and the traction characteristic theory of vehicle under straight-line working condition is put forward and a set of traction characteristic model algorithm with soil property parameters, vehicle parameters and driving parameters as input values is obtained, which provides theoretical support for track simulation and optimization.2)Triaxial compression tests of natural/artificial components of sandy soil were carried out.Based on industry standards and national standards, four types of sand soil components were prepared by changing the gradation, moisture content and density and adding artificial components like cement.Triaxial compression tests were carried out on various types of sand soil with variable parameters and the internal cohesion and internal friction angle of different types of sand soil were obtained through the test datas. The influence of natural and artificial components of sand soil on triaxial mechanical parameters of sand soil was also analyzed, providing soil modeling parameters for the study of traction characteristics of track.3)The influence law of traction characteristics of track was explored. The software,ABAQUS,was used to establish a numerical model of a single track by changing the structural parameters such as track's height, spacing, angle and width. Then the traction performance of a single track with different structures was simulated numerically, and the influence rules of different structural parameters on the traction performance of the track were obtained. In addition, based on the established simplified track model, the track parameters under the condition of sandy soil road were optimized, and the optimization scheme verification of the track simplified model was carried out with the goal of obtaining the maximum hook traction force of the track vehicle, which provides reference for the optimization design of track structure of military vehicles.
