By comparing the Chinese and German codes,it can be found that there are some differences in the calculation of the bearing capacity of the common bolt connecting with partial threads inserted into the bolt hole under the action of static shear force.The Chinese code for design of steel structure(GB 50017-2017)has no regulations on this topic,however,according to the German code for design of steel structure(DIN 18800-1),the shear capacity of bolted connection is decreased from the ordinary one.At present,there are few researches on this field in China,lacking any relevant data,and partial threads are often inserting into the bolt hole in practical engineering.Therefore,in order to further study the effect of the depth of thread inserted into the bolt hole on the bearing performance of the connection,and a total of18 test pieces were designed and tested by static loading.Meanwhile,based on the good agreement between the test results and the finite element results,68 bolt connection numerical models with partial threads inserted into the bolt hole were established through the finite element software ABAQUS for analyzing about variable parameter.At the same time,the numerical models of 58 bolt connections with coarse threads commonly used in Chinese engineering were established to analyze their bearing capacity.the main research contents include:1.18 bolted connection specimens were tested to obtain their ultimate bearing capacities,load-displacement curves and failure modes.The results showed that the ultimate bearing capacities and yield loads of the test specimens decrease with the increase of the depth of thread inserted into bolt hole.The load-displacement curves of the same test specimens showed almost the same trend and similar mechanical properties,which verified the accuracy of the results obtained in each group of tests.2.The numerical model of the test specimens was established through the finite element software ABAQUS,and the constitutive relation of the steel obtained from the material tests,which was inputted into it.In order to obtain its'the ultimate bearing capacities,load-displacement curves and failure modes,the finite element numerical model was analyzed.And the finite element analysis results were compared with the test results.The results showed that the test results were in good agreement with the results of the finite element analysis,which verified the feasibility of analyzing the load-carrying performance about the bolted connection with thread inserted into the bolt hole through the finite element software ABAQUS,and verifying the correctness and rationality of the finite element model.3.By comparing the formulas for calculating the shear bearing capacity of the thread inserted into the bolt hole in the Chinese and German codes,it can be found that the depth d_sof the thread inserted into the bolt hole,bolt diameter d,the thickness t of the connecting plate bolt pitch p and the number of bolts n have certain effects on the connection bearing performance.Based on the good agreement between the test results and the finite element analysis results,68 numerical models with partial threads inserted into the bolt hole were established through the finite element software ABAQUS,analyzing the influence of the above parameters on their bearing performance.4.According to the calculation formulas specified in the Chinese,German,British and American code for design of steel structure,the test specimens were calculated.And the design value of shear capacities was compared with the test results.The results showed that compared with the calculation criteria of shear bearing capacity with partial threads inserted into the bolt hole in other three countries,the German code was closer to the test results.Therefore,Chinese code for design of steel structure can refer to the German code to improve this provision.5.By comparing the code for design of steel structure in Chinese and Germany,it can be found that the shear capacity of bolted connection with depth of thread inserted into the bolt hole was(0.0t,1.0t),which was not clearly explained in the two specifications.Based on the good agreement between the test results and the finite element analysis results,58 numerical models were established through the finite element software ABAQUS.And finite element analysis was made on the bearing performance of the bolted connection with coarse thread commonly used in Chinese engineering.The proposed formulas were proposed based on it.
