The rapid development of urbanization not only makes people’s life more convenient and beautiful, but also brings a series of problems such as urban water logging and flood, runoff pollution, heat island effect, water resource shortage etc.It makes people realize that the traditional urban construction mode not only affects the ecological environment, but also cannot be sustained. Therefore, the concept of sponge city has gradually entered the public vision. In our country, the residential area accounts for a large proportion of the new building area every year. With the passage of time, the residential area built in the middle and early stage of the town is also gradually aging, and gradually forming the old residential area. The improvement of people’s living quality requirements makes the livability of the old residential area decline. The direct demolition and reconstruction will produce a large number of construction waste that cannot be naturally degraded, which is not only high-cost,but also damages the ecological environment. It does not meet the requirements of sustainable development. Therefore, promoting the cavernous transformation of old residential quarters is a good and feasible scheme to alleviate the above problems, and how to evaluate the comprehensive benefits of the cavernous transformation of old residential quarters scientifically and reasonably is also a problem to be considered in the construction of sponge city.Based on the concept of sponge City, this paper explores the comprehensive benefits of cavernous transformation of old residential quarters from the perspective of regional parts.By collecting and reading a large number of relevant documents, research results at home and abroad, and relevant national standards, industrial guidance documents, and local specifications,on the basis of clarifying the comprehensive benefits of cavernous transformation of old residential quarters, ecological benefits, social benefits and economic benefit,17 evaluation indexes in the scheme layer are selected to establish the comprehensive benefit evaluation index system after cavernous transformation of old residential quarters. Then,in order to avoid the shortcomings of single weight determination method, the method of combining subjective and objective is adopted. At first, the weight of evaluation index is determined by analytic hierarchy process, and then the entropy weight method is used to get the final weight of evaluation index. Finally, after the cavernous transformation of old residential quarters, the matter-element extension model which can effectively solve theincompatibility problem is introduced into the comprehensive benefit evaluation process.Firstly, the qualitative and quantitative research methods are used to determine the evaluation criteria. Then the classical domain, nodal domain and the matter-element evaluated are determined. Finally, the correlation coefficient is calculated and the comprehensive correlation degree is calculated to determine the comprehensive benefit and evaluation after the cavernous transformation of old residential quarters The degree of subordination between grades,so as to evaluate.According to the evaluation method and evaluation process of the comprehensive benefit evaluation system after the cavernous transformation of the old residential quarters designed in this paper,an empirical study is carried out with a dormitory cavernous transformation project of a technology development center in Jinan City,Shandong Province as an example. The conclusion shows that the probability of the comprehensive benefit of the project evaluated belonging to the grade of "good" is the highest, basically in line with the actual situation after the completion of the project. At the same time, the case study results also verify the rationality and feasibility of the comprehensive benefit evaluation system designed in this paper.
