Engine Prediction and Health Management(PHM)is an emerging engineering discipline that aims to detect, diagnose, and predict mechanical failures. However, the lack of data sets which actual system failures has hindered the development of the discipline.Inspired by the C-MAPSS data set, this paper proposes to numerically model aero engines, and then simulate the performance degradation process, provide data materials for PHM analysis,so as to help the airline engine fleet management to be scientific, clear, and improve operation management efficiency, reducing airline operating costs.Based on aero-engine principles,MATLAB/Simulink is used to perform component-level modeling of aero-engines.The variable specific heat calculation method and component map are introduced to improve the model accuracy. The Newton-Raphson method is used to connect the modules and obtain the engine to work together,to complete the overall engine modeling. The model was then validated using JT9 D engine data.Based on statistical analysis, the new method is used to scale the component map to obtain more accurate component map data, and the original method and the new method are compared on the basis of the real characteristic map.The results show that the new method is closer to the actual situation on 100% rotating speed.By analyzing the C-MAPSS data set,a performance degradation acceleration model suitable for the data set is proposed, and combined with the component map scaling method, the performance degradation of the engine high-pressure compressor is simulated. The simulation results and the C-MAPSS data set match. Then, the performance degradation simulation model was used to analyze the impact of different fault causes on the overall engine performance. The conclusion was that the efficiency degradation of the high-pressure compressor and the flow degradation had similar impact on the EGT temperature, and the flow decline of the high-pressure compressor had a greater impact on the surge margin of the high-pressure compressor.
