Highway is an important symbol of modern civilization and the foundation of economic developmen and social progress.Highway wind-blown snow disaster is the most common, most frequent and most harmful form of highway snow disaster in seasonal snow regions, and it is a kind of natural disaster that seriously affects the safety of highway traffic.Although domestic and foreign researches on highway wind-blown snow have been conducted, they are not systematic and comprehensive enough. In the aspect of wind tunnel test, limited by the experimental conditions, there are only a few achievements in the study of highway wind-blown snow by using this method in China. In the aspect of numerical simulation, according to the current numerical simulation research, most of the studies use the single-phase flow method to approximate the snowstorm two-phase flow, and infer the movement of snow particles by simulating the change of the velocity field of air phase, which lacks of quantitative research. In this paper,in order to solve all kinds of traffic accidents caused by the wind-blown snow as a starting point, combining with the domestic and foreign existing research methods and research results, take the wind tunnel test combined with Mixture multiphase flow model based on Fluent software to provide means of numerical simulation method to study, brought to propose to serious snow disaster area highway subgrade cross-section snow distribution and typical roadside prevention and control technology were studied, the main research contents include the following parts:The wind tunnel test is carried out for embankment highway with different embankment height, and the reliability of numerical simulation me thod is verified according to the test data. Then the numerical simulation method is used to analyze the parameters of four typical subgrade cross-section forms of embankment type, road cutting type, windward half road cutting and leeward half road cutting, and the influence of various factors of the typical subgrade cross-section on the snow distribution of highway is obtained. The wind tunnel test is carried out for different distances between the snow retaining wall and the embankment slope foot, and the reliability of the numerical simulation method is verified according to the test data. Then, the numerical simulation method is used to analyze the parameters of the height of the snow retaining wall, the distance between the snow retaining wall and the f oot of the subgrade slope, and the layout of the snow retaining wall(including single-row layout and double-row layout),and the influence of each factor of the snow retaining wall on the distribution law of highway snow is obtained.Based on the results of wind tunnel test and numerical simulation, and on the basis of the in-depth analysis of the formation process of snow disaster in typical subgrade sections.Aiming at the unbuilt highway, the general principles and key points of the design for the line selection and optimal design of subgrade section are put forward to reduce or avoid the wind-blown snow disaster. The roadside prevention and control shall be carried out for the highway that the selection of line and roadbed design are unavoidable or already built, according to the effect of snow retaining wall under different factors and considering the cost of the project, the reasonable design parameters of the height, layout position and layout form of snow retaining wall are given, and other prevention measures are discussed and studied.
