With its long history and unique craft,Tibetan masonry wall conveys the colorful history and culture of Tibetans.The masonry wall,which is the most important and fundamental structure of Tibetan buildings and also determines the safety performance of whole building,has high and meaningful research value.Hence,it is essential to carry out research and protection on Tibetan masonry wall.In this paper,probabilistic statistics and autocorrelation theory are adopted to count and describe the dimensions and random spatial distributions of the wall.Numerical simulation method is used considering randomness of dimension characteristcs to analyze mechanical properties of Tibetan masonry wall and investigate the influential key factors.Main research contents and findings are listed below:(1)Based on field trip of local masonry buildings in Tibet,firstly,probability density functions and its related parameters of masonry wall's dimensions are obtained,by using probabilistic statistics method.Secondly,the autocorrelation theory is used to describe the random spatial distributions of different kinds of walls and the autocorrelation fields of each masonry wall are obtained.Finally,standards for identifying and classifying Tibetan masonry walls are established based on autocorrelation theory applying on randomness of masonry material distribution.(2)The stochastic geometric models,produced by MATLAB applying probability density function and related parameters of masonry wall,are introduced into FEA software ANSYS/LS-DYNA for numerical simulation.The damage mode and loaddisplacement curves of actual test are compared to verify the high-effective numerical simulation method on masonry considering its dimension randomness.(3)The mechanical properties and damage mode of Tibetan masonry wall under compression and shear are studied.Through parameter anlysis,the effects of masonry walls' different high-width ratios,thickness and materials on masonry wall's mechanical properties are revealed.
