With the optimization and upgrading of China’s industrial structure and the adjustment of economic structure,the construction of science city has flourished in the background of emphasizing independent innovation and technological power.There are some issues such as single innovation power,insufficient innovation vitality,and etc.As an emerging innovation entity,crowding innovation shows fast development speed and strong innovation potential.It has complementary needs and values with science city.Therefore,this paper insists that crowding innovation can enrich innovation subjects and chain,bringing new vitality and motivations to the development of science city.The integration of these two has research value.First of all,utilizing worldwide typical cases of science city characterized by crowding innovation,this paper studies the development momentum and mechanism,and reviews characteristics of location and traffic and patterns of functional and spatial structures.After summarized the land use ratio,land composite and mixed patterns and block size,the spatial pattern and characteristics of science city characterized by crowding innovation has been finalized in different spatial hierarchy,and current issues has been revealed.Second,the paper uses the case study,GIS kernel density analysis and other methods to analyze the characteristics of the science city in terms of crowding innovation,including the demographic features,the space function model and spatial layout,and then summarizes the demand for crowding innovation.In addition,taken into consideration the status quo problems and the needs of crowding innovation,an optimization strategy is proposed for the existing spatial pattern of science city characterized by crowding innovation.At the micro level,"crowding innovation unit" and "basic crowding innovation community" need to be constructed to improve the layout of crowding innovation elements and to promote the integration of entrepreneurship,social and life in the science city.At the mezzo level,land use ratio,and land composite and mixed patterns need to be improved,and land management is required to optimized.At the macro level,intensive and compact land use mode,circle-chain-network spatial structure and the multi-center composite spatial mode should be adopted to strengthen industrial collaboration and to enlarge innovation capabilities.Finally,based on the spatial layout optimization strategy of science city characterized by crowding innovation clarified in the paper,the surrounding area design of Beijing Future Science City is carried out.The design improves the industrial chain of crowding innovation,delimits the guidance zone,and enhances the innovation community.
