The dream of building strong military strength is an important part of the Chinese dream.The development of military science and technology and well-trained officers and soldiers guarantees the progress of building military strength.However,the traditional training methods are facing the difficulties like huge investment,weapons damage,casualties and so on.Receiving training in the simulated environment is a must for the trainees in the future.The return signal simulator can create an environment for the training center to restore the electromagnetic conditions of the real battlefield and ensure the training effectiveness.Target echo signal and various jamming signals are main parts of airborne radar electromagnetic environment.In this thesis,based on the research on the simulation of airborne radar electromagnetic environment and requirements of a practical project,FPGA is used as the hardware platform to realize the real time simulation of radar target return signal,multiple false target deception jamming signal,blocking noise jamming signal and comb spectrum noise jamming signal.Firstly,the basic knowledge required for designing a simulator is discussed in detail,including jamming conceptions,radar return signal simulation theory,the statistic characteristics of clutter,radar cross section of a target.Then,the mathematical models of suppression jamming and deception jamming are established,and the jamming effect is simulated by numerical simulation software.Based on the blocking noise,a comb spectrum noise generation method based on digital resonance filter is proposed.The simulation analysis of the clutter whose signal amplitude is subject to four typical kinds of distribution is also carried out.Finally,by using programmable logic hardware description language,the simulated target return signal and noise signal are generated on a large scale FPGA platform.The function of each modules and whole system was verified by a thorough system test.
