In order to solve low speed performance issues on diesel engine equipped with traditional turbocharger,such as turbo lag,insufficient torque,high NOx emission,lower economy etc,people pay more attention to electric assisted turbocharger.But it is worth noticing that if the electric assisted turbocharger cannot match the engine well,there will be many problems,such as high fuel economy,high exhaust back pressure,low-speed transient performance etc.Therefore,the matching between the diesel engine and the electric assisted turbocharger is an important subject.This paper include the procedure of matching suitable electric assisted turbochargers for a specific V6 diesel engine,using the simulation.Firstly,the specific parameters of V6 engine were calculated.This design choose the 800r/min,at full load as the design point and power,fuel economy,air-fuel ratio as the design parameter.And according to the calculation,mass flow,pressure ratio,speed of compressor and motor,power of the motor are determined.Secondly,the paper uses software GT-power to simulate the performance of electric assisted turbocharger diesel engine.Firstly,the turbocharger diesel engine model is set up and the characteristics is calculated.The model is checked by the comparison between simulation data and experimental data.Then the Eu-ATL system diesel engine modal is performed.And we perfom simulations,when motor is on the generator and the motor patterns.Then the EATS diesel engine modal is performed,make some simulations when the engine is on 800r/min,the same fuel supply conditions and different fuel supply conditions.Last we also perform simulations on 800r/min,different power of the motor.The electric assisted turbocharger diesel engine simulation results show that:1.when we use two electric assisted turbocharger systems on the diesel engine on low speed conditons,the compressor speed increases,the intake pressure grows,engine intake flow is a substantial increase,the air-fuel ratio is more 23~24 and the emission of NOx is also substantial decrease.the engine output torque is upgraded to meet the design tarque value,and fuel consumption gradually reduced.2.When we use Eu-ATL system in high speed and all load condition,motor is on the generator pattern,the baggest recovered energy is 13 kW and the biggest recovered sufficiency is 19%.3.By comparing the simulation results of two electric assisted turbocharger systems,we know that Eu-ATL system has a better improvement of diesel engine performance parameters than EATS.
