With the growing of world energy crisis,the opinion that building physical performance must be taken consider into architecture design has became a consensus.But it is not clear that how the building physical performance can be taken consider into.In the early stage of space generation and shape design of contemporary architecture design can be summarized into six space operations.It is no doubt that the research of these space operations' influence to building physical performance can provide a potential method.Besides,there is few theory about the relationgship of building physics and architecture design compared with structure and construction,even though it is a very important part of building technology,which result in that we can't realaize the efficacy of building physical factors and related energy-saving measure to architecture design and just treat them as a helpless compromise because of the global energy crisis.Is is undoubt that this is not benefitical to the development of green building and architecture.This paper take the relationship between space generation and building physical factors as entry point,we put forward a description method which treat the space genereation as the change of field function,and a semi-quantification description by it is proposed.On the one hand,it changes the status that the description about space generation is completely qualitative,on the other hand,it makes building physical factors with the main form is field participate in the process of space generation in a natural way,which is good for the integration of green building and tradional architecture design..Next,we have four main spatial generation operations for contemporary architectural design: “occupying”,“digging”,“balance” and “segmentation” to simulate building performance based on performance simulation software such as Raidiance,Fluent and EnergyPlus,which is intended to figure out the effect of different space operations to building physical performance.From the results of simulation we can get these conclusions: operation of “occupying” is unfavourable for lighting,neutral for ventilation and insulation;operation of “digging” is favourable for lighting and ventilation,but unfavourable for insulation;operation of “balancing” is unfavourable for lighting and ventilation,favourable for insulation;operation of “segmentation” is neutral for lighting,ventilation and insulation.Then,we study systemly the effects of building physical factors such as light,sound,heat and related energy-saving measures to space generation based on field function.In the opinion of field function,building physical factors such as ligh,sound and heat,in the form of field function,can represent charactristics of an area.There will be space differentiation when these field function occur mutation and differentiation.In this way,building physical factors can participate in the generation of space.As for the energy-saving measures,there are two kinds of ways to participate in the space generaion: one is that these measures will lead to the mutation and differentiation of building physical flied function,the other is that these measures will lead to the mutation and differentiation of formal field function,both of them will lead to space generation.At the last of the paper,we summarize the results of previous study,which provides thoughts and ways for integration of green building design and traditional design.At the same time,based on the field function description of space generation,we initially prospected the possibie application prospects of this theory in parametric design.
