With the rapid development of mobile communication technology, wireless communication technology has been widely used, especially in the next generation of intelligent transportation system(ITS).Internet of Vehicles(IoV)is one of the key technologies in ITS,which can connect people, vehicles, roads and infrastructure into a network through wireless communication technology. Moreover, vehicle networking can effectively improve traffic safety, and reduce environmental pollutions, which are all beyond the reach of traditional sensor networks.Furthermore,vehicle-to-vehicle(V2V)radio communication technology is also the cornerstone of future driverless technology. The performance of the wireless radio channel directly determines the communication quality of the communication system. What is more important, the performance of the wireless channel depends on its actual propagation environment. Therefore, the measurement and research of V2 V radio channel in different scenarios is of great significance to the establishment of the V2 V radio communication system. In this study, two typical V2 V radio communication channels at intersections of two category are measured. The radio propagation characteristics are analyzed and modeled. The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)Firstly,in this paper, the measurement plans of two intersections in China are designed. Two typical intersection scenarios are selected,i.e.urban intersection and suburban intersection, and a measurement system is built with a high-precision channel sounder. Then the actual measurement activities were carried out,and a number of high-precision data were obtained. After data preprocessing, the channel impulse response required in this paper provides data support for the analysis and modeling of channel characteristics in the future.(2)The analysis of channel characteristics is studied. In this paper, the power delay distribution, time delay spread,Doppler frequency shift and small-scale amplitude fading distribution are analyzed in combination with the actual measurement records. The parameters of Weibull distribution and the Rice K factor analyzed by combining the judgment of small-scale amplitude fading. It is found that there are more reflective paths at urban intersections, due to the occlusion of past vehicles and the small-scale amplitude fading distribution still obeys Rayleigh distribution at the line of sight, while there is a larger Doppler frequency shift at suburban intersections. The results show that in vehicle-to-vehicle radio communication, the surrounding buildings and large vehicles,as well as the faster speed, will have a greater impact on the channel characteristics.(3)Research on channel modeling has been carried out.The statistical modeling of root mean square delay spread,Doppler delay spread and Rice K-factor are studied. The model of Rice K-factor and distance correlation under suburban line of sight is given. Finally, the path loss models in two scenarios are modeled and studied.Several more suitable path loss models are selected for this measurement scenario. The most matching path loss models in two intersection scenarios are selected by three model selection methods.
