With the acceleration of urbanization, problems such as concentrated elements and uneven distribution of resources has arose.Urban development in the new era requires should the transformation from single-spread into comprehensively high-density land use, from extensive resource development and incremental expansion into accurate search for internal potential and re-use of existing land.In order to optimization and promotion of urban functional space,it is very important to study urban problems, improve the level of urban intensive utilization, promote the diversification of urban spatial functions, and provide scientific suggestions for urban planning.Identify the urban functional areas can better understand the urban stock space, and multicenter city operation mode is a new goal for urban development. This article takes main district of Lanzhou as the research object,By establishing a reasonable functional area research system through multi-source data to identifies the functional area of urban land in Lanzhou, and analyse the urban multi-center spatial pattern. We hope provide to gives useful and practical strategies for the intensive development and inventory planning of urban functional space in Lanzhou. The results showed that :(1)There were 1093 single functional units of Lanzhou City, accounting for68.41% of the total units, indicating that the urban functional area presented the overall layout mode of "more single and less mixed",and the linkage effect between the functions was low. There were 390 units in the mixed functional area, accounting for 24.4% of the total units. There were spatial differences in the mixed utilization degree of Lanzhou city. There were 115 units in the null value units, accounting for7.25% of the total units, which can provide potential space for the urban functional layout.(2)The connection between functional areas were scattered and the internal agglomeration is low.The residential function area in the city of Lanzhou was located in the center of the main district and surrounding area.It spreads everywhere. The commercial function area was located around large commercial districts and large markets.Compared with other districts in lanzhou,Xigu District has obvious advantages in production.Public service functions were mainly located in the administrative agencies, education, medical treatment, cultural facilities, etc.Therailway stations and bus stations were the main traffic function area.Greenbelt square was mainly distributed in parks and wetlands along the river.(3)At the present stage, the urban functional center of Lanzhou city presents a spatial structure of "One center, one sub center and multiple groups".According to the analysis,it can be known that the single function centers were scattered, close to the city periphery. The comprehensive center of Lanzhou City was located in the gathering area business circle of Xiguan. It integrates many functions such as administration, business, entertainment, and medical treatment in the city.It has a large scale, complete facilities, and excellent regional conditions.(4)This paper analyzes the problems existing in the functional pattern of Lanzhou City, such as the inconsistency between the planning and the actual development, the imbalance of the distribution of public facilities, the imbalance of the function space gathering, and the lack of close traffic connection among the centers. In response to these practical problems, this article proposes a number of optimization measures:the government’s coordination of the allocation of functional areas, appropriate adjustment of functional area composite, establishes an orderly multi-center structure system, improves the guiding role of road traffic, and adhere to macro policy guidance and urban planning management control.
