With the rapid development of China’s highway construction scale,problems such as low efficiency in survey and design of highways,long cycle time,large labor intensity,and low quality has become increasingly prominent.At the same time,China ’ s road construction has gradually begun to push forward in areas with complex terrain such as mountainous areas and dense vegetation coverage.This has imposed higher requirements on the accuracy,efficiency,and reliability of road survey measurements.How to obtain high-precision topographic maps quickly and efficiently will become a urgent problem to be resolved in China’s road survey and design.This paper introduces two advanced measurement techniques of tilt photography and LIDAR to road survey measurement,which will effectively solve the problems in road survey and design,improve the measurement efficiency,shorten the cycle and measure the accuracy,thereby improving the quality and level of the road route design.The main research content of this article is as follows:(1)Through the research,it summarizes the current status of road survey and design and insufficiency,a high accuracy digital terrain model is generated by the point cloud data,to meet the requirements of road survey and design of basic data.(2)In this paper,the development status of UAV tilt Photography and LIDAR measurement technology at home and abroad are deeply studied,and their working principle and system composition are summarized,the classification and advantages and disadvantages of UAV flight platform are summed up,and the determining factors of measurement accuracy are analyzed from the principle.(3)The drone tilt photography and the main process of field measurement are studied.The error source and error principle of the digital camera are analyzed,through the Indoor experiment field method,uses the bundle difference principle to check the exterior elements of the camera,and principles and considerations of the aerial photography plan,time design,layout of external control points and scheme are given.(4)on the basis of studying the classical filtering algorithm of point cloud data,according to the theory and formula,based on the mathematical model hypothesis,from the perspective of whether the initial seed point is collinear and adaptive threshold,an improved adaptive moving surfacefitting method suitable for tilt photography point cloud is proposed,and the concrete process and evaluation method are given.(5)On the survey and design of roads,the applicability verification of road engineering was carried out on the accuracy of point cloud detection by tilt photography and LIDAR.Based on the characteristics of point cloud data,a specific algorithm for cross-section elevation of road median line and accurate calculation of earth and rock are proposed.(6)Based on the actual road engineering,the paper puts forward the optimization plan of road survey and design based on point cloud data,compares with the traditional survey design,improves the work efficiency,reduces the artificial field operation quantity,and then enhances the road route design level.Finally it evaluates the social benefits of the optimization scheme.
