In recent decades,the research and development of small satellite applications is very rapid.Pulsed plasma thruster(Pulsed Plasma Thruster,PPT),its can produce relatively high specific impulse even in very small power condition,and can provide a very small thrust for the precise control,The whole propulsion system structure is simple,the quality is lighter,can use a long time;At the same time it also has high control accuracy,and can enable the continuously very obvious advantages.So it is widely used in control of small satellite,tiny spacecraft orbit position micro piezoresistive offset,deep space flight propulsion and interplanetary flight etc.high accuracy of the space program.Although the PPT thrust efficiency now is still relatively low,but along with the advance of science and technology and the rapid development of space technology,electric propulsion technology will be to develop in the direction of high thrust efficiency,which allows electric propulsion device in all kinds of small spacecraft installed range become more widely.This article is mainly aimed at PPT ignition process of experiment and theoretical research.The past research for PPT start is focus on the spark plug itself,the main study of the life and the ignition reliability of spark plugs.And the ignition process of PPT,especially PPT plate breakdown process,namely,theoretical and experimental study of the spark plug produce the initial electron to two plate conduction caused by capacitance discharge process is hardly.In this paper,a flat plate type coaxial type spark plug PPT as the research object,under different conditions of PPT from ignition to the discharge end of the whole process by oscilloscope and Rogowski coil,measuring the spark plug electrode voltages and electrode voltage and discharge current,analyzing the reasons of PPT not discharge.the success rate of the comparative analysis of the factors influencing the discharge conditions,By comparing the working condition of discharge rate in the experiment,analysis PPT ignition process mechanism and influence factors.Through the theoretical analysis found that PPT ignition process is not only related to the performance of the spark plug,also with the structure,the working parameters and the number of work of PPT.It provides some reference for the design of PPT.In order to improve the stability of PPT work,it provides a way of thinking.
