A complete microwave traffic information collecting system is built in order to gather real and original echo signals and thus study the signal processing algorithms to solve the zero signal problem,to realize the accurate measurements of traffic flow and eliminate mutual influential between two adjacent lanes which occur in collection procedure and finally enhance the accuracy and reliability of traffic detection radar and pave the way to build an all-weather practical microwave traffic detection system.Follows are the main scientific researches.Firstly,put up a deep-going analysis of characteristics of radar sensors and their working principles,fundamental thesis and method commonly used in radar signal analysis at current stage,make clear the fundamental thoughts and overall process of traffic information gatherings from radar signals.Secondly,IVM-297 radar transceiver is utilized to build the microwave traffic flow measurement hardware system including signal conditioning module and signal process module.At the same time,the signal collecting software system is also developed to realize the synchronous acquisition,record and replay of echos and video information.Third,large amout of field radar echo signals and the corresponding video image information are acquired.Via the processing of signals under different traffic conditions,the parameters of threshold of filtering is determined,and to distinguish the cars drived at the edge of the lane by only retaining the strongest peak with the same time tag and try best to extract the accurate positions of the vehicles in each lane,and finally improve the accuracy and reliability of radar system.Finally,the effectiveness and reliability of the algorithm are verified in different practical traffic conditions.The experimental results show that the proposed signal processing algorithm can effectively improve the accuracy of traffic flow measurements in testing situations,and meet the requirements of practical applications.
