With the improvement of train running speed,the railway track measurement requirement increases.The daily track maintenance mainly depends on grinding train,but traditional manual measurement method can not measure full corss-section profile of rail and provide effective data for rail grinding.At present,track measurement mainly depends on manual.Manual measurement can not meet the increasingly stringent measurement requirements in efficiency,accuracy,data processing and storage.In recent years,with the development of sensor and computer vision technology,the application of CV in railway track field measurement can not only meet the requirements of measurement accuracy,but also greatly improve the efficiency,so it is a great significance to measure full corss-section profile of rail by visual measurement.At present,the rail measurement based on machine vision is mostly single-eye camera measurement system,and the system is simple in structure,it is only necessary to ensure the relative position between single camera and line-structured light plane,but the system can not can not meet the measurement requirement of full cross-section profile of rail.Although the binocular measurement system is complex in structure and needs to adjust the relative position between four sensors,the binocular camera measurement system can obtain the full corsssection of rail profile,and measure the rail profile parameters such as rail head width,rail head height and full corss-section profile of rail.In this paper,on the basis of binocular camera imaging model,the data acquisition,processing and visualization of measurement results were carried out.According to the field environment and measurement requirements,a rail profile measurement system was designed.A binocular calibration method was proposed by establishing a camera imaging model,a global coordinate system for measuring full corss-section of rail profile was established.Combined with 60 rails images characteristics collected in the field,a concise image processing process was proposed,according to the rail profile characteristics,registrated profile point set to model point set with CPD algorithm.The railway measurement requirement was analyzed,a software system for profile measurement with friendly human-computer interaction and simple operation was designed.60 Rail wear and profile were measured.The measurement results was visualized and connected with database.
