Glow discharge atomic emission spectrometer is a modern analytical instrument widely used in recent years for the detection of chemical components on the surface of substances.Glow discharge atomic emission spectrometer can directly perform solid layer-by-layer analysis on solid samples,especially in the field of metal detection.It has a very important role in the research fields of material surface composition analysis and product quality inspection.Based on the experimental platform of a small-scale glow discharge spectrometer,the starting power of the excitation source is improved,and the starting conditions of the spectrometer under different parameters are experimentally investigated.The cathode plate of the excitation source is improved,the flexibility of the cathode plate of the spectrometer excitation source is increased,and the air-tightness of the discharge chamber of the excitation source is experimentally determined based on the improved cathode plate,and sputtering of different materials is performed.experiment analysis.In this paper,when studying the discharge principle of the excitation source of the traditional glow spectrometer,it was found that the open-circuit voltage of the glow spectrometer is very high.After the gas is broken down,the voltage in the normal glow discharge phase is reduced.Based on this discharge characteristic,this article uses dual power supplies to power the excitation source.Before the argon gas insulation breakdown,a high voltage pulse is used to discharge the gas breakdown.After the discharge,a DC constant current source is used to supply power to continuously discharge the gas in the excitation source.The piezoelectric ceramic device was selected as the high-voltage pulse power supply,and a piezoelectric ceramic was used as a high-voltage pulse power supply in series with the DC power supply scheme for the power source part of the excitation source.Experiments were conducted to find out the critical current value of the spectrometer’s glow and extinction by changing the power supply current under the conditions of changing the power supply voltage range from 77 V to 588 V and argon gas pressure range from30 Pa to 300 Pa.This article mainly studies the glowing conditions of Grimm excitation source under different voltage and argon gas pressure.When changing the distance between the electrodes of the excitation source,the glowing rule of the glow spectrometer under different power supply voltage and argon gas pressure.In order to solve the problem of the damage of the cathode disk of thespectrometer during use,the structure of the cathode disk has been improved.The cathode disk is divided into two parts,A and B.The air-tightness of the cathode disk is experimentally verified.The improved cathode is used.The plate is subjected to sputtering experiments on different materials.It is verified through experiments that the improved cathode disk can be well applied to the excitation source of the glow spectrometer,increasing the flexibility of the instrument and reducing the cost of use.
