Large-scale wireless Ad Hoc networks has broad application prospects in the field of military communications because of its flexible deployment and fast networking speed. However,as the network scale increases,it brings great challenges to Clustering and Routing, and becomes one of the key factors that restrict its application. This paper focuses on efficient clustering and routing protocols for large-scale wireless Ad Hoc networks.Firstly, this paper studies the clustering problems of large-scale wireless Ad Hoc networks. The Weighted Clustering Algorithm(WCA)is proposed. In order to adapt to the mobility of wireless Ad Hoc networks, two factors, node relative connectivity and relative mobility are considered as a measure of the head election in this algorithm.A jump between the cluster header and the cluster member is possible. The protocol also considers the networking problems in an abnormal situation in the actual network environment.Secondly,a hierarchical routing protocol based on clustering is designed and implemented. In the routing protocol, the cluster head nodes form a backbone network, and the cluster member nodes form a subnet centered on the cluster head. The routing table is maintained only at the cluster head node, and the cluster member node forwards the data packet through the cluster head node. The maintenance cost of the routing table is greatly reduced, and the routing efficiency is improved. The backbone network uses a distance vector(DV)based routing algorithm. This paper uses Qualnet simulation software to implement the designed clustering protocol and routing protocol, and evaluate the performance. The simulation results show that the clustering protocol and routing protocol designed in this paper can be applied to large scale wireless networks with network topology changing frequently.
