In recent years China has been investing in engineering technologies and workmanships for addressing the challenging issues concerning possible landslides in large-scale slope reinforcement projects. This paper is aimed at studying a case study based on the stability of a slope embankment and how it is influenced by reinforcement,by analysing a built model of the slope using a numerical modelling method.Using Midas to build a three-dimensional geological model of the slope, and FLAC3D to analyse the stability of the three-dimensional slope model,by applying the strength reduction method(SRM)in FLAC3D software to analyse and identify the slope failure mechanism and calculate the safety factor(SF)of the natural slope under self-weight conditions, and by the same method to analyse the slope stability and calculate the SF of a reinforced slope using piles reinforcement method and excavation method, respectively.Aimed at determining the desired SF of the slope, deeming it stable enough to the desired value.Firstly, using FLAC3D to analyse the stability and calculate the SF of the slope under natural conditions. The calculation results would be able to identify the failure surfaces, week zones and lateral deformation through displacement and shear strain rate. The second and third step will be focused on running numerical simulation in FLAC 3D to analyse and study the impact of pile reinforcement and excavation on the slope, towards determining the most feasible effective method for stabilizing this slope. The analysis will be conducted based on a drained slope, without considering the moisture in the slope.
