Qinghai province has a long history, which is located in the plateau ecological region in the west of China. Its long history of farming and nomadic culture has endowed it with the life mode of "multi-ethnic integration and generations of mixed residence".The Haidong area studied in this paper is one of the regions with distinct local characteristics in Qinghai province. It is a typical representative of Zhuang profile residential area with early development and perfect living system. However,as the government pays more and more attention to the growth rate of GDP and strives to maximize the land value, problems such as cultural heritage inheritance fracture, insufficient protection and renewal of regional cultural landscape have emerged in traditional villages. Therefore, the arduous tasks of protecting traditional villages can not be delayed. In the early stage of this research, field research and literature review are used, and in the later stage, comprehensive analysis and typology are used for data collection, taking traditional Tibetan settlements in eastern Qinghai province area as the research object, makes every effort to use intuitive gene mapping to cover national and regional culture landscape characteristics,to break through the monotony of the traditional village protection faces, dig deep into the traditional settlements under the external representation of cultural context, and protecting the diversity of all-round ancient villages.Main research contents include:Firstly, this paper reviews the research achievements of traditional village protection and cultural landscape, introduces the contents of traditional village from the perspectives of concept analysis, basic research at home and abroad, and mode dilemma,at the same time, combs the cultural landscape gene theory from the basic concept, theoretical background, research and identification extraction methods at home and abroad. Then, the research object of this paper, the traditional Tibetan villages in Haidong region of Qinghai province, are introduced, and their connotation characteristics are summarized from the aspects of nature, humanity, behavior and cultural landscape.Secondly, the cultural landscape gene theory was integrated with the protection of traditional Tibetan villages in Haidong region of Qinghai province, and the landscape gene identification and extraction were carried out for the 10 villages studied. The process of identifying and extracting landscape genes from three levels of village scale, village scale and architectural scale was elaborated in detail. At the village scale,it focuses on environmental factors, site selection concept, site selection layout and boundary identification.Under the village scale, the focus is on the village form, spatial structure, main public building and lane texture.Under the architectural scale,it focuses on the fields of plane organization, facade form, architectural technique and religious art.Next,it summarizes the cultural genes of different scales, through the transformation of the "cell-chain-shape",the landscape gene map of traditional Tibetan villages in Haidong region of Qinghai province is constructed, and then it is used as the basis for the formulation of protection strategies,so as to realize the dynamic inheritance and dynamic protection of traditional Tibetan villages in Haidong region.Application of theoretical method, finally taking yashizha village as an example, from macro to micro, the landscape gene is identified and extracted, and then the protection and renewal planning of "cell-chain-shape" system is made, which provides a new perspective for the inheritance and development of Tibetan traditional village cultural factors.
