Research On The Adaptability Of Cerasus In The Pearl River Delta

Plants of genus Cerasus are the most world famous flowering trees in early spring.China is rich in the species of Cerasus,while most of the Cerasus planting in China are introduced from Japan,and the varieties are single.Most of these exotic varieties are not suitable for high temperature and high humidity in south of China,the high incidence of diseases and insect pests seriously affect the oanamental effect of the cherry blossoms,even result in death.In recent years,to solve this problem,some domestic enterprises have gradually introduced and cultivated some varieties for southern China,such as C.campanulata,C.cerasoides,C.yunnanensis‘Guangzhou'.This study has investigated the trees of C.campanulata,C.cerasoides,C.yunnanens ‘Guangzhou' planting in the Pearl River Delta,in order to observe their adaptability,and provide the reference for planting,and finally promote the popularazation and application of these trees in the Pearl River Delta.(1)C.campanulata have higher adaptability in the Pearl River Delta,and the maintennace level has significant effect on their adapability.(2)C.yunnanens ‘Guangzhou' has the highest adaptability among the three kinds of trees in the Pearl River Delta.The maintennace also can affect the growth,and the planting pattern with shurbs covering on the roots is good for resisting heat in summer.(3)C.cerasoides can not grow well,but planting with shrubs and grass covering on the roots.The maintenace level has significant relationship on the adaptability.(4)After a comperhensive comparison of the adaptability of three kinds of Cerasus in the Pearl River Delta.The C.yunnanensis ‘Guangzhou' has the best adaptation,followed by C.campanulata and C.cerasoides.(5)From the semi lethal temperature and planting observation experiment,we can know C.yunnanensis ‘Guangzhou',C.campanulata ‘Fugui',C.speciosa ‘Xiaoqiao' have a better heat resistance,and are suitable for planting in the Southern China.
