Lagerstroemia indica, also known as Hundred Red,Itchy Tree, etc.,is an important summer flowering shrub or small tree in China. It has the characteristics of long flowering period, large flowers, colorful flowers, wide adaptability and strong stress resistance.Application and ornamental values are extremely high.At the moment, people's needs for a better life are growing, and more attention is paid to the pursuit of spirituality. Therefore, the cultivation and appreciation of indoor hydroponic flowers is also favored. However, most of the existing hydroponic flowers were researched on herbaceous flowers, and there were few studies on woody flowers. In this study, the lignified stem section of Lagerstroemia indica‘Red Rocket'was used as the test materials. The most suitable method to induce the cuttings rooting was selected from the short-term soaking of different exogenous hormones and soaking for a long time. The rooting method was used to select the most suitable nutrient solution formula for the growth. The Lagerstroemia indica ‘Red Rocket' annual cutting was used as the test material to screen the most suitable nutrient solution for the growth of cuttings. The purpose is to provide theoretical basis and scientific guidance for the water culture of Lagerstroemia indica.Main research results as follows:(1)The rooting process of Lagerstroemia indica cuttings was divided into three stages: adventitious root induction stage(0-20d),adventitious root formation stage(20-30d),and adventitious root growth stage(30-40d).The rooting type of cuttings was mainly integrated rooting type.(2)Soaking for a long time was suitable for cuttings rooting. The effect of exogenous hormones on rooting of Lagerstroemia indica cuttings: treatment 3(IBA 1.0 mg/L)and treatment 4(IBA 2.0 mg/L)were more suitable for the cuttings rooting.Under treatment 3(IBA 1.0 mg/L),photosynthetic efficiency was the best, the POD activity was the highest, soluble protein content,SOD activity and CAT activity were significantly different from the CK,the MDA content was overall lower, and the root system was significantly different from the CK.Under Treatment 4(IBA 2.0 mg/L),photosynthetic efficiency was better than the CK,soluble protein content and root activity were the highest.POD activity,SOD activity,CAT activity were better than the CK,and MDA content was the lowest.(3)The effect of nutrition solution on the growth of Lagerstroemia indica cuttings: Under treatment 4(1/40 concentration),the photosynthetic efficiency was the best, and soluble protein content,POD activity,SOD activity,CAT activity were the highest, and the MDA content was low.Root activity was better and it was more conducive to the growth of cuttings.(4)The effect of the nutrient solution on the growth of the Lagerstroemia indica cuttage seedlings: Under A3 treatment, the number of leaves increased significantly, and the growth rate was fastest. The number of adventitious roots first increased rapidly and then slowly. At the end of the experiment, the number of adventitious roots was the highest.SOD activity and CAT activity were the highest.MDA content was not the lowest, but it was not significantly different from the lowest A4 treatment. The whole was more conducive to the growth of the cuttage seedlings.
