Phyllostachys edulis ‘Pachyloen',also known as Phyllostachys heterocyla or Pubescens, have both high germ-plasm values and promotion prospects. They are a kind of special fine variation grown in Jiangxi province.Their culm walls are often 1.8 to 2.0 times as thick as others and they have stable traits,so that they get the name.In order to study their fine economic characters and explore its regional variation and their influence on the change of growing environment, based on the previous regional test, the paper applies various techniques, including variance analysis,Duncan's new multiple range method, correlation coefficients, cluster analysis to measure P.edulis‘Pachyloen's from 11 different plating bases about their nutritional quality, fiber morphology and content of their culm, and culm shape features. Then, the paper analyzes the correlation between regional variability of these economic traits and climate, elevation, and soil environmental factors. The results shows that:(1)The content of organic nutrients such as tannin, protein, starch, sugar, crude fiber, and vitamins in P.edulis‘Pachyloen'shoots varies greatly,so do the content of zinc and manganese in mineral nutrient, although there was no systematic difference in the nutritional quality of bamboo shoots between the introduction and the introduction of techniques. The annual precipitation, sunshine hours, altitude, organic matter,alkali-hydrolyzable nitrogen, available phosphorus, copper content and soil pH in the production area have significant effects on the nutritional quality of P.edulis' Pachyloen'shoots.Firstly, when precipitation is plenty, the starch level is also higher;Secondly, when in March, higher temperatures lead to higher tannin content and lower crude fiber content.Thirdly,in high altitude, there are lower content of starch and crude fiber in bamboo shoots. What's more, with higher soil alkalinity N and organic matter content, the content of crude fiber in bamboo shoots was higher and the content of total N was also lower. The content of available K in soil was lower, and the total sugar content in the bamboo shoots was higher. The pH value of soil was significantly positively correlated with the crude fiber content, and the tannin content was similar. There was however a significant negative correlation;the copper in soil mainly affected the content of manganese and magnesium in bamboo shoots.(2)There are certain differences in fiber morphology and content of P.edulis‘Pachyloen'in different production areas and in different parts of the same bamboo culm, but there are no systematic differences in different producing areas;in the eastern part, bamboo fiber is wider than the western part, the western bamboo fiber is longer. The sunshine hours in the producing area and average temperature in March have a significant effect on the fiber morphology of bamboo culm. The sunshine hours, average temperaturein March, altitude, the total nitrogen,alkali-hydrolyzed nitrogen and organic matter content in the soil. The content has a significant effect on the fiber content of bamboo culms.(3)The specifications of P.edulis‘Pachyloen'rods in different places of origin are quite distinctive, but the number of culms and thick-walled traits and their relatively full height, comparable height under branches, and relatively tall stems are relatively stable. The main environmental factors which affect the culm characteristics of P.edulis‘Pachyloen'are the soil available potassium content, sunshine duration, frost free period and average temperature in May.In summary,in different areas, main economic characters such as thick wall trait, bamboo shoot nutritional quality, stem shape characteristics, the bamboo stalk fiber morphology and content are of difference. However, the main reason is the different growing environment. Moreover, the study does find any systemic differences between introduction and origin in economic characters.Hence,cross-regional introduction will not reduce the economic characters and use value of P.edulis' Pachyloen.
