The Asian citrus psyllid(ACP),Diaphorina citri Kuwayama is the important pest of citrus worldwide. The ACP is serious carrier of bacterial disease, huanglongbing(HLB)or citrus greening disease in citrus all over the Asia. The probability of HLB presence in citrus might be positively correlated with the number of ACP.Understanding the host searching behavior of ACP very important in chemical ecology for its management strategies.Trapping techniques are very important to control or manage the ACP.It necessary to reduce the attack of ACP under Integrated pest management(IPM)program. This study reports the new trapping techniques against ACP for its management. The ACP search hosts using visual, olfactory and chemical tropism characteristics.Lot of studies have been reported the host selection behavior of ACP but studies regarding the management via trap is lacking. However, current study explains the efficacy of wind tunnel trap to attract the ACP.The wind tunnel trap was used in laboratory and at orchard Gunagzhou. The air permeability of the insect-proof net allows the airflow carrying the host odor to pass through,so that the insect's chemical windiness can be used to locate the insects into the trapping source,so as to increase the trapping rate of the citrus raft. The main findings are:1.The air permeability of the yellow armyworm net and yellow armyworm board used in a wind tunnel device to attract the ACP.The yellow armyworm nets attract more ACP adults(60%)as compared to yellow armyworm board traps(25%).2.The wind tunnel device was used to determine effect of net color, shape, and direction to the selection behavior of ACP.The yellow armyworm net was hanged at different angles position(60°,30°,and 90°)in wind tunnel device. The angel 60° attracted more ACP(44%) than those of other two direction.By comparing the effects of trapping nets of different shapes(spherical, triangular prism, cube, and plane)on the trapping rate of ACP adults. The spherical shape captured more ACP(93%)than others three shapes.Through the trapping effect of different color(yellow-green,red,green,blue,and white)nets of traps against ACP adults,The yellow-green armyworm net captured more ACP adults(47%)than other four colors.3.The effects of volatile components(?-caryophyllene,?-caryophyllene,cis-3-hexen-1-ol,and leaf acetate alcohol)at 10 ?l/ml,100 ?l/ml,and 1000 ?l/ml concentration in yellow-green trapping nets to attract the ACP adults. The cis-3-hexen-1-ol at 100 ?l/ml had strong attractive effects on ACP adults(75.67%)than other three volatile components.were and the optimal concentrations of the three compounds in 4 h were,100 ?l/ml,and 100 ?l/ml,respectively.This study concluded that ACP adult visual and olfactory behavior affected with these factors.behavior.4.The activity peaks and host space activities of adult ACP were measured by field trapping nets. The trapping time 9:00-11:00 am was more better for trap ACP adults in the field than 1:00-3:00 pm,7:00-9:00 am,11:00-1:00 pm,3:00-5:00 pm and 5:00-7:00 pm.The rules of the host space activity are as follows: the upper position in the tree, the position in the tree, and the bottom of the tree.
