Semiaquilegia adoxoides(DC.) Makino is a kind of frequently-used Chinese Traditional Medicine,which is a perennial herb belongs to Ranunculaceae.The underground part of Semiaquilegia adoxoides could be used as medicinal.The study of the anatomical structure of seedling and perennial plants vegetative organs,and the development rule of flowers was investigated through the paraffin section method.Here are research results:(1)Leaf and primary structure of stem is the same as normal dicotyledonous plants,however the number of vascular bundle of Semiaquilegia adoxoidesstem is less with more developed pith.The pattern of root was diarch.The cortex is highly developed in the primary structure of the root and the secondary phloem is more developed in the secondary structure.(2)The pattern of seedling of Semiaquilegia adoxoides(DC.) Makino is magnolia type and the transition zone is located in the bottom part of its hypocotyl.The vascular bundle of cotyledon and primary leaf is small,and the primary leaf has the differentiation of palisade tissue and spongy tissue,but these differentiation are not significant in cotyledon.(3)All references are recorded the medicinal parts of Semiaquilegia adoxoides(DC.) Makino is inappropriate through the study on morphological and anatomical structure.The medicinal parts of Semiaquilegia adoxoides(DC.)Makino is developed from root and hypocotyl through their expanding growth,so the form essential medicinal parts of Semiaquilegia adoxoides(DC.) Makino should be fleshy tap root.The main progress of the enlargement of the fleshy tap root was the increase of the tertiary cambium,which was differentiated by xylem parenchyma and then produced abundant of tertiary bundle.In addition,normal secondary increase gradually.(4)The process of flower bud differentiation could be divided into five stages: initial differentiation phase of flower bud,calyx differentiation phase,petal differentiation phase,stamen differentiation phase,pistil differentiation phase.(5)The main characters of embryology are that the type of anther wall was basic development type with amoeboid tapetum.The microspore cell arrange as tetrahedral tetrads and the mature pollens belong to 2 cell type.The ovule is anatropous,the megaspore mother cell developed four macrospore cells after cell meiosis and formed a linear tetrad.The development pattern of embryo sac is Polygonum type and finally nucleates forms 3-6 antipodal cells.
