In this paper, the morphological characteristics, morphological parameters and reproductive characteristics of the Ligia cinerascensin Heishijiao Gulf in Dalian were studied by means of laboratory breeding, comparative analysis and field survey.Basic data on biological characteristics of the Ligia cinerascens were obtained. The results are as follows:The results of the study on the anatomic structure in Heishijiao Gulf in Dalian show that the structures of first antenna, second antenna, caudate and tail limb have interspecific differences and genetic stability, which is the important basis of taxonomy, and may help to provide new morphological evidence for the identification species in Heishijiao Gulf in Dalian. The results of the analysis of morphological parameters showed that the difference of mass, length and width of intersex was small in the early stage of growth. There was no significant difference between male and female second antennae, and the growth changes were consistent with those of length and width. There was no significant difference in the early stage of male and female tail limbs, and there was no difference in the middle stage. These parameters can be used as important basis for morphological classification.Studies on reproductive characteristics of the Ligia cinerascens show that the population activity of the Ligia cinerascensbegan at the end of the April, entered the breeding season in early May,the June-September boom, and disappeared in late November. The data of egg number, total egg weight per fetus, single egg weight and egg diameter in the Ligia cinerascens lay a foundation for the study of reproductive biology. The results of the study on the water salt stress and the colonization potential of inland migration showed that the drought tolerance of the Ligia cinerascenswas closely related to the size of body, and the large individuals showed a strong drought tolerance. The low salt water environment was relatively good, suggesting that the Ligia cinerascens had high potential for inland migration and colonization.
