The Comparative Study On Introduction Of Different Strawberry Varieties In Yangling,Shaanxi Province

Strawberry is an important kind of berries,which has a high reputation in the world because of its unique flavor and nutrition.Strawberry industry in China is becoming quite prosperous.However,the yield is lower than some of developed countries owing that growers can not choose the appropriate varieties.Facility strawberry cultivation is also a high-cost cultivation mode.Therefore,selecting appropriate varieties adapted to local environment is important.?Benihoppe?,?Taikong 2008?,?Yanli? and ?Ningyu? were used as experimental materials to study the plant characters and fruit qualities in greenhouses in Yangling,Shaanxi province.The main results are as follows:1.There were remarkable differences in the horticultural traits among different varieties.?Benihoppe?,?Taikong 2008? and ?Ningyu? were generally superior to ?Yanli?.The survival rate of ?Benihoppe? and ?Ningyu? were both over 90%.The advantages of ?Benihoppe? were its high yield and strong vigorous growth.Disease was found to be less prevalent in the cultivar of ?Ningyu?,and ?Ningyu? had the longest harvest period.Results indicated that ?Benihoppe?,?Taikong 2008? and ?Ningyu? were more suitable for cultivating in Yangling,Shaanxi province.2.All tested cultivars had good external quality.The total acid content of ?Taikong 2008? was the highest.The oxidation resistance of ?Benihoppe? and ?Ningyu? was higher.Results indicated that that the fruits of ?Benihoppe? and ?Ningyu? had better fruit qualities.3.?Ningyu? has better plant characters and fruit qualities,and it is suitable for fresh food in forcing cultivation of strawberry in Yangling area.And it can be sold as a high-end boutique fruits.?Benihoppe? is suitable for fresh food.However,it needs to use soil sterilization to eliminate strawberry root rot.The sugar-acid ratio of ?Taikong 2008? was below 12,so it is suitable for planting as a processing variety.The plant characters and fruit qualities of ?Yanli? are general,and it?s adaptability to the environment of Yangling is relatively weak.It is not an appropriate variety for cultivating in Yangling.
