| Twelve species were introduced from Shandong and Xinjiang provinces to enrich Tamarix germplasm resources to meet local afforestation needs and provide more breeding plants which are suitable for Heibei east coastal saline areas.Survival rate of cuttings,keeping rate in second year,height and basal diameter of these 9 Tamarix chinensis species were conducted to evaluate their adaption in Qinhuangdao.Then survival rate of cuttings,growth and photosynthetic parameters of 23 Tamarix chinensis clones from Qinhuangdao natural forest were measured.A regional trial of 29 Tamarix chinensis clones on three sites(Changli and Caofeidian)was assessed in order to select stable superior clones.Results were as follows:There were significant differences in keeping rate in second year between 9 Tamarix chinensis species introduced from Shandong and Xinjiang.Keeping rate of Tamarix chinensis(Tamarix chinensis Red.,Tamarix chinensis 1-5,Tamarix spp.,80.55%~93.11%)and Tamarix austromongolica were higher than Tamarix gansuensis(68.26%),Tamarix androssowii(33.01%),Tamarix hispida(21.44%),Tamarix arceuthoides(0%)and Tamarix laxa(0%).Suitability for Qinhuangdao was analyzed from survival rate of cuttings,height and basal diameter of these 9 Tamarix chinensis species,namely Tamarix chinensis > Tamarix chinensis 4 > Tamarix chinensis 3 > Tamarix austromongolica > Tamarix chinensis 5 > Tamarix chinensis 1 > Tamarix spp.> Tamarix chinensis Red.> Tamarix androssowii.Survival rate of 23 Tamarix chinensis clones were both more than 85%.Superior clones 2,8 and 5(Tamarix chinensis‘Binhaicui’)were selected according to foliage and growth.These three clones were both high survival rate of cutting,dense foliage and highest growth potential,which can be used as core clones for breeding.Data on height and basal diameter of 29 Tamarix chinensis clones were analyzed by additive main effects and multiplicative interaction(AMMI)model.The results showed that genotype-environment interaction was significant for growth.Based on the genotypic adaptability and stability in growth,clones 1,2,8,10,12,13 and 14 were selected and were both suitable for these three sites. |
