Selection Of Strong Gluten Wheat Varieties And Their Suitable Irrigation Times In Middle And North Hebei Province

For screening the stable yield and water-saving strong gluten wheat varieties in middle and north Heibei Province,this study selected nine strong gluten wheat varieties(Shiluan02-1,Shiyou20,Nongyou3,Jinnong7,Zhongmai629,Zhongmai998,Zhongmai1062,Jinan17 and Jimai229)and three medium gluten wheat varieties(Zhongmai175,Henong6049 and Henong6425)as materials,and set three irrigation treatments(CK: winter water + drawing water + flowering water,W2: winter water +drawing water,W1: winter water)to research the effects of irrigation times on agronomic characters,nitrogen accumulation and transports,grain yield and its components,protein and its component contents and flour quality characters of tested wheat cultivars.At the same time,this work also explored the water use efficiency of irrigation water.The results indicated that there were not significant differences in the aspects of plant height,ear length and leaf area index between strong gluten and medium gluten wheat cultivars.Comparison with the average grain yield of medium gluten wheat cultivars,most yields of strong gluten wheat cultivars were lower except Nongyou3 and Zhongmai1062.Only the protein contents of Jinnong7,Nongyou3,Shiluan02-1,Zhongmai998 and Jinan17 reached the national standard of wheat protein content(?14%).Comprehensively considered grain yield and protein content,this study preliminary selected four strong gluten wheat cultivars to plant in middle and north Heibei Province.Those were Jinnong7,Nongyou3,Shiluan02-1 and Zhongmai998.After reducing irrigation times,dry matter accumulation of strong gluten wheat cultivars declined significantly,but economic coefficient increased greatly.Transport of dry matter from vegetative organs to grains and its contribution rate to grains enhanced markedly.After reducing irrigation frequency,nitrogen accumulation in vegetative organs of strong gluten wheat decreased significantly,but nitrogen transport rates increased.After reducing frequency of irrigation,the protein content of strong gluten wheat grains increased,and the changes of protein components were different.Specifically,the content of albumin and glutenin increased,while thegliadin decreased.Appropriate reduction of irrigation frequency could promote the transport of nitrogen accumulated by strong gluten wheat plants to grains,increase protein content and improve grain protein quality.After reducing irrigation time,grain yield of strong gluten wheat cultivar decreased significantly,but the grain yield of Nongyou 3 was higher than that of other three strong gluten wheat varieties.On the other side,water use efficiency increased with the reducing of irrigation frequency,and the changing range varied with cultivar and irrigation time.Among them,the water use efficiency of Jinnong 7 under W2 treatment was most,increased by 20%.In conclusion,under the conditions of this study the strong gluten wheat varieties that more suitable for middle and north Heibei Province were Nongyou 3and Jinnong 7,and W2 treatment(winter water + drawing water)could effectively coordinate the relationship of grain yield and protein content and simultaneous improved water use efficiency.
