Selection Of Strong Gluten Wheat Varieties With High Quality And Response To Different Nitrogen Application Rates In Eastern Hebei Province

In order to select strong gluten wheat varieties suitable in eastern Hebei Province and study their response to different nitrogen application rates,Zhongmai998 and Jinnong7 were selected as yield control under the condition of field in eastern Hebei Province,and medium gluten wheat in this area was used as yield control.12 strong gluten varieties were screened according to ecological adaptability,high yield and other comprehensive characters.The results showed that the average yield of 12 strong gluten wheat was 6906.54 kg/hm2,less than that of middle gluten wheat 7750.35 kg/hm2.Meanwhile the yield of Nongyou3 and Jinnong7 was less than 5%,respectively,and the yield reduction of Shiyou20,Zhongmai1062 and Jimai229 was less than 10%.With the exception of Zhongmai1062.the grain protein content of other strong gluten wheat varieties was higher than 14%(National standard of strong gluten wheat 2016).the glutenin contents of Jinnong7 and Shiyou20 were significantly higher than that of other varieties.At the same time,the wet gluten content and sedimentation value of Zhongmai998 were significantly higher than those of other varieties.According to the yield,grain protein content,protein component,wet gluten content and sedimentation value of strong gluten wheat,Nongyou3,Jinnong7,Shiyou20,Zhongyou206,Zhongmai998 and Shiluan02-1 were selected as strong gluten wheat varieties.In order to study the response of strong gluten wheat to different nitrogen application rates,Jinnong7,Zhongmai998 and Shiyou20 were selected as experimental materials to study the effects of different nitrogen application rates(0,180 and 240 kg/hm2)on population quality,yield and quality of strong gluten wheat in eastern Hebei Province.The results showed that nitrogen application increased the total stems number,the panicle percentage and leaf area index before jointing of Jinnong7 and Zhongmai998,increased the total stems number and panicle percentage before jointing of Shiyou20,but had no effect on the total stems number of three strong gluten wheat at the beginning of winter.The results showed that nitrogen fertilizer application could significantly increase the total stems number before jointing of strong gluten wheat,and thus improve the population quality.The study found that the amount of nitrogen application significantly increased the dry matter accumulation and translocation in Zhongmai998 and Jinnong7,whereas the dry matter accumulation and translocation in Shiyou20 first rise then descended after the application of nitrogen,indicating that the appropriate nitrogen application amount could increase the dry matter accumulation and translocation in strong gluten wheat.The study showed that the grain protein content in strong gluten wheat increased with the increase of nitrogen application rate,indicating that the increase of nitrogen application rate contributed to the increase of grain protein content.The response of grain protein components to different nitrogen application rates was significant.The increase of nitrogen application rate was beneficial to glutenin content and gluten-gliadin ratio.The results showed that increasing nitrogen application amount contributed to increasing the grain yield of strong gluten wheat.Considering the population quality,yield,protein content and protein composition of the strong gluten wheat,Jinnong7 is a strong gluten w-heat variety with high NUE,which is suitable for planting in eastern Hebei province,the suitable nitrogen application rate is 240 kg N·hm-2.
