| Fresh maize has attracted a great deal of attention of people because of its rich nutrition,easy absorption by the human body,extensive consumption,great market potential and high planting efficiency.With the growing demand for fresh maize,the planting area of fresh maize is expanding,which requires higher cultivation technology.However,our research on improving the cultivation technology and non-hazardous techniques of fresh maize is more lagging behind than the original places.There are many problems that restrict the development of fresh maize to be solved,such as poor varieties,low germination rate,pest problems,and low yield and quality.It is of great value on improving crop yield,increasing economic benefits and inspiring growing enthusiasm of farmers with the study of fresh maize.In this study,we investigated the effects of different agricultural measures on the growth and development of sweet-waxy maize to improve the key cultivation techniques in practical production,including the selection of maize cultivars,density experiment and fertilizing amount,etc.Moreover,the general cultivation rules of some sweet-waxy maize cultivars in Jiangsu Province were also investigated.The results are listed as follows.Ten sweet-waxy maize cultivars were used to study the growth and developmental characteristics and seed quality in Jiangsu Province.The results showed that except SuKenuo2,the other 9 maize cultivars are growing well,which have plump seeds,high yield,good quality and profuse nutrition.Among these cultivars,Sukenuo3 yielded about 605.22 kilograms per acre,while both JingTiannuo and Sukenuo3 had high yields and good qualities,which are more profitable.The growth and developmental characteristics of JinXiuchaotian A76 with different planting density was studied,and the results revealed that with lower yield,enough nutrition and better growth performance was observed under the lower planting density.However,when planting density was high,the height and uniformity of JinXiuchaotian A76 were increased and maintain lower economic benefit.Thus,to reach the best economic benefit,qualities and yields,we chose JinXiuchaotian A76 and sowed at the density of 3000 plants per acre.Then we analyzed the growth and development characteristics of JinXiuchaotian A76 with different fertilization amount.The results revealed that applying more organic manure could effectively increase the leaf area,plant height,ear position,ear rows,grain rows but the length of bald tip length were shorter.Besides,applying more organic manure could also get the better palatability of JinXiuchaotian A76 and improve its commodity efficiency.And when the fertilization amount was 100 kilograms per acre,the production could be the best.Taken together,our investigations will provide theoretical and practical basis for better extension of those elite cultivars that are suitable for growing in Jiansu province. |
