Effects Of Illumination Time And Low Concentration Salt On The Nutritional Quality Of Seedling-edible Chinese Cabbage

In this study,the Chinese cabbage(cv.'XiangGen-CR QiangJing')was used as the core material,the effect of photoperiod treatments,different concentrations of NaCl treatments and different salt combinations(NaCl,KCl and CaCl2)treatment on the growth,quality of Chinese cabbage seedlings were inverstigated.And the results of this study may assit on the seedling-edible Chinese cabbage production.The main results were as follows:1.The effects of four different photoperiod(the day time was 8 h,12 h,16 h and 24 h)on the growth and quality of Chinese cabbage seedlings were investigaged.The results showed that plant height,shoot fresh weight,leaf number,and leaf area and nitrate contents of Chinese cabbage increased significantly with the increasing of the day time.The concentrations of soluble sugar and vitamin C of Chinese cabbage seedlings increased first,and then decreased with the rising of illumination time.And the maximum concentrations of soluble sugar and vitamin C were observed under 16 h and 12 h illumination,respectively.2.Plant height,shoot fresh weight,leaf number,and leaf area and nitrate contents Chinese cabbage seedlings increased first,and then decreased with the rising of NaCl concentration(0 mmol/L,5 mmol/L,10 mmol/L,20 mmol/L and 40 mmol/L),and the peak of these phenotype was observed at 5 mmol/L NaCl treatment.There was no significant effect on the leaf number and nitrate content with incrasing of NaCl concentration.When the concentration of NaCl below 40 mmol/L,the vitamin C content increased along with increasing concentration of NaCl.3.The responses of plant height,shoot fresh weight,leaf number,and leaf area of Chinese cabbage changed differently under different combinations of salts(NaCl,KCI,CaCl2,NaCI+KCl,NaCl+KCl,KCI+CaCl2,and CK[control]).Generally,the double salt treatments made a better role in promoting the growth and quality of Chinese cabbage seedling.And the combinations of CaCl2 and KCI showed best performance for morphological phenotype.Except the treatment of KCI,nitrate content increased after slat stress treatments,and reached maxsium value with the combinational treatment of NaCl and CaCl2.Two combinational treatments inhanced the contcentration of soluble sugar,CaCl2 and KCl,NaCl and CaCl2.The concentration of vitamin C was inhibited by KCl treatment,but showed reverse response with the combination of CaCl2.4.Focused on the above findings,comprehensive evaluation on growth and nutritional quality of Chinese cabbage seedlings under photoperiod treatments,different concentartions of NaCl treatments and different combinations of salts was carried out by weighted incidence degree.And the results indicated that the growth and qulity of Chinese cabbage seedling may perform better under 16 h/8 h(light/dark),with 10 mmol/L NaCl treatment or the combinational treaments of CaCl2 and KC).This study provides valuable information for the seedling-edible Chinese cabbage production.
