Populus euphratica forest is an important vegetation type in the oasis in the extreme arid region of northwest China. The maintenance of Populus euphratica forest and its biodiversity is of great significance to the stability of oasis ecological environment and the sustainable development of regional economy.Because of the Populus euphratica forest has important aesthetic and cultural value, the intensity and scope of tourism activities are continuously increasing in the recent years, and it led to a serious threat to the protection and maintenance of Populus euphratica forests. In this thesis, the sample plots of Populus euphratica forest in Ejina Banner were investigated, and the effects of tourism disturbance on species diversity and soil of Populus euphratica forest in Ejina Banner were studied. In order to protect Populus euphratica population and the sustainable utilization of natural resources of Populus euphratica forest, the Populus euphratica forest restoration and reconstruction and other related research to provide theoretical support. The main findings are as follows:(1)Species composition and vegetation composition of Populus euphratica forest in reserve are simple, with fragile habitat.Under Populus euphratica forest vegetation and root tillers were gradually reduced by disturbance. While clonal growth of root tillers,as the main regeneration method of Populus euphratica, was blocked, and the population of Populus euphratica declined.(2)In Ejina oasis, the vegetation dynamic process of Populus euphratica forest was changed with tourism disturbance.Affected by tourism projects such as infrastructure construction, habitat fragmentation and habitat heterogeneity increased, which has a great influence on the maintenance of oasis vegetation.(3)Tourism disturbance had a significant effect on vegetation diversity of Populus euphratica community in Ejina oasis, which significantly decreased species richness and Shannon diversity index(P<0.05).Severe tourism disturbance resulted in uneven distribution of species in the habitat(P<0.05).Disturbance reduced the species diversity of Populus euphratica forest, resulting in the declination of oasis vegetation.(4)Tourism disturbance significantly changed soil bulk density(P<0.05),soil moisture content was higher in tourist-intensive areas. The results showed that tourism disturbance(trampling)mainly changed the physical structure of soil in Populus euphratica forest, and had little effect on soil nutrient.(5)The impact of tourism activities on the community characteristics and soil environment of Populus euphratica forest is mainly caused by tourists trampling, the number of tourists and the construction of infrastructure. In order to realize the realization of eco-tourism in Ejina oasis, the protection and management of Populus euphratica forest is established, and the purpose of protecting and restoring Populus euphratica forest is achieved by establishing the protection and management rules according to the disturb gradient.
