The study was designed to assess the loss of wheat production by Puccinia striiformis.Three wheat varieties,Mingxian 169,Xiaoyan 6,and Xikemai 18,were used to determine the yield loss caused by wheat stripe rust.Three wheat varieties were randomly seeded, and two treatments were set up.One treatment was sprayed by fungicide for the control of wheat strip rust and the other treatment was not sprayed there were 3 replicates per treatment, and two treatments for yield comparison.Studies have shown that different varieties of wheat have different levels of resistance and the variety of wheat Xikemai 18 has high resistance to stripe rust(IT 0),and there is no necrotic streak on the leaves. The yield loss of Xikemai 18 is the lowest,at 6.45%.Secondly,Xiaoyan 6 has anti-(IT 5)resistance to stripe rust, leaves have short necrotic streaks, the yield loss is 15.11%;Mingxian 169 is the most susceptible wheat variety(IT 9),the highest yield the loss has reached 18.08%.Evaluation by disease resistance and yield loss showed that there was a significant negative correlation between yield and disease severity affected by stripe rust during treatment. The yield loss caused by stripe rust in Xikemai 18 and Xiaoyan 6 was lower than the susceptible variety Mingxian 169.Therefore,it is recommended to promote and grow resistant varieties to the disease similar to the Xikemai 18 to reduce the yield loss caused by stripe rust.
