The material used for the turf reinforcement by fiber is mainly chemical synthetic materials.However,these materials are used in turf soil and there is a risk that the fiber will degrade and release harmful chemical substances,then the soil would be polluted.The use of natural plant fiber to reinforce turfgrass not only guarantees the safety performance of the football pitch,but also contributes to alleviating the crisis of environmental pollution.In this study,six kinds of natural fibers including bamboo fiber,carbon fiber,basalt fiber,palm fiber,coconut fiber,and hemp fiber,and a chemically synthesized PET fiber,totaled 7 kinds of fibers,with mass ratios of 0.2%,0.4%,and 0.6%.The sandy soil was mixed with fibers,and 3 replicates were set for each treatment.Sand soil without fiber was used as a control treatment,and 3 replicates were also set.The results showed that:(1)After the fiber was added to the soil,the physical and chemical properties of the rootzone were improved.When the fiber ratio reached 0.4%,the saturation hydraulic conductivity of the soil after most of the fiber reinforcement was significantly higher,and the fiber proportion continued to rise to 0.6%,the saturated hydraulic conductivity began to decrease or the rate of increase slowed down;the degradation of plant fibers could reduce soil pH for alkaline soils.The soil pH range was 6.93-7.14,which was suitable for the growth of turfgrass.(2)Due to the change of soil physical and chemical properties,fiber reinforcement has a certain role in promoting the growth of turf cover and root growth.After six months of growth,carbon fiber,coconut fiber and hemp fiber have significantly increased the difference,compared with the control treatment,the coverage was risen nearly 4%.The total root length and the total root surface area of the turf showed a tendency of increasing with time,and the growth trend began to slow.After 4 months,the increase amplitude of root diameter increases.(3)Fiber-reinforced sand starts from changing soil properties and promotes the growth of turf roots.The interaction between the roots,the granules and fibers effectively increase the tensile and shear strength of the turf.The tensile strength increased with the increase of the added fiber ratio,and significantly improved the turf tensile strength compared to the control treatment.The turf shear resistance also increased significantly.The control shear cohesion test of the control CK was 0.919 kPa.But the highest intrinsic cohesive force is the hemp fiber with a ratio of 0.6%,and the cohesion force is 26.038 kPa.In the soil,the change of the anti-friction angle is relatively large,and the internal friction angles of carbon fiber,coconut fiber,and PET fiber are relatively large.Basalt fiber,hemp fiber,and palm fiber have relatively small internal friction angles.
