Since the industrial revolution, humans have begun to use more and more fossil fuels, resulting in increasing concentrations of CO2 and other greenhouse gases in the air, causing many problems such as climate warming, glacial melting and greenhouse warming.Through photosynthesis, forests can absorb CO2 from the air and fix it into organic carbon. This is a very eflfective way to sink CO2 and can be a powerful way to solve the CO2 problem.Scientific assessment of forest ecosystem carbon reserves and carbon density can provide the basis for the management of forest resources and the study of forest carbon sink functions.Taking the vegetation of forest in the west of Shanxi province as the research object, this paper studies the carbon density and distribution pattern in each of the three plantation ecosystems of Robinia pseudoacacia,Pinus tabulaeformis and Platycladus orientalis. It is important in theory and practice to evaluate carbon sequestlration capacity of different types of forests by quantifying carbon stocks and distribution patterns of different forests. It turns out,(1)In the study of carbon stock, the carbon content of trees is usually 0.5.The results of this study are 0.49 for Robinia pseudoacacia9 0.5 for Pinus tabulaeformis and 0.49 for Platycladus orientalis. However, the carbon content of leaves, branches and trunks differed greatly.Leaves ranged from 0.46 to 0.53,branches from 0.41 to 0.50,stems from 0.46 to 0.52 and roots from 0.47 to 0.50(2)Among the different organs or stratification of each component in the artificial ecosystem, the largest difference in the proportion of carbon density distribution is:The stem of trees in the Arbor layer, the branches of shrubs in the shrub layer, the roots of grass in the grass layer, the undecomposed layer in the litter layer, and the shallow part of the soil layer.(3)In this study selected three kinds of planation ecosystems,Robinia pseudoacacia,Platycladus orientalis and Pinns tabulaeformis carbon density were 77062.27 kg/hm2?56056.44 kg/hm2 and 114891.65 kg/hm2.The growth of Pinus tabulaefor,is was the best, the carbon density was the highest, the growth of Platycladus orientalis was the worst, and the carbon density was the lowest.
