The kapok longicorn beetle,Glenea cantor Fabricius,is an important pest of kapok trees in southern China and Vietnam, which can damage the whole plant of kapok trees in severe cases. There is a significant sexual conflict behavior in the mating of the female:the female do not apparently refuse mating behavior during the first mating, which they showed a strong refusal to mate after a successful mating.During the period, whether it is the original male and the other virgin male,it shows strong resistance. It usually takes about 10 days to accept the second mating.Based on the successful mass laboratory rearing, this experiment conducted a study by controlling ratio, number of mating times and delay mating, etc.on sexual conflict behavior and bonitation of G.cantor,in order to clarify the sexual conflict of females under various conditions. The main results were summarized as follows:(1)Under the male-biased sex ratio, the sexual conflict phenomenon and the rejection of mating behavior of the female still occur. As the proportion of males increased, the bonitation of female decreased, and the fecundity, egg hatching rate, and longevity were also reduced under conditions of male-biased sex ratio. As the males increased, the females suffered some degree of interference in oviposition period and longevity. In the case of a sex ratio of 1:1,the overall data of female oviposition period, fecundity and longevity was higher overall.(2)The degree of sexual conflict of females was different under different mating times.Females did not have obvious sexual conflict behavior when they mate for the first time, and they had different degrees of sexual conflict behavior when they accept re-mating.Female mating once can satisfy the amount of sperm needed for a lifetime. As the number of mating increases until long-term mating, the bonitation of females tend to be higher.(3)In the case of delayed mating, the female sexual conflict behavior was significantly reduced, and the number of male and female sexual conflict action was significantly decreased. With the delay of mating, the female can receive re-mating early and achieve a longer life(4)Female sexual conflict behavior still exists in a different time to getting along of male and female. The number of female mating and sexual conflict action decreased with the decrease of the time of getting along, but the female refused to:mate still existed, and there was no significant different in the longevity of females.(5)In the case of female mating with non-original males, their sexual conflict behavior was similar to that of the original male.Under the mating of males with larger body size, the bonitation of females was not significantly improved, and the rejection of mating period was not significantly shortened(6)The sexual conflict behavior of G.cantor occured along with the mating process. In the case of delayed mating, the sexual conflict behavior of G.cantor was well relieved;in the case of reduced male and female time, the female sexual conflict action was reduced,in addition, the female sexual conflict behavior intensity did not decrease.
