Tomato is a representative of solanaceous vegetables,an important vegetable widely cultivated all over the world,and plays an important role in the annual supply of vegetables.Selenium plays an important role in human health.It is a safer way to supplement selenium by eating plants with higher selenium content.Moderate selenium is good for plant growth.The experiment was carried out by grafting two genotypes of cherry tomatoes?red ball cherry tomato cherry 5-5-1 and yellow ball cherry tomato yellow RTY-3-2?to obtain red scion?red cherry tomatoes as grafted offspring of scion?,red rootstock?red cherry tomato as the grafted offspring of the rootstock?,yellow scion?red cherry tomato as the grafted offspring of the scion?and yellow rootstock?yellow cherry tomato as the grafted offspring of the rootstock?,and then the red cherry tomato was not grafted offspring?red CK?and yellow cherry tomato non-grafted offspring?yellow CK?as a control to study the growth characteristics and selenium enrichment of grafted offspring of two genotypes of cherry tomatoes.It is hoped that a grafting treatment method with better quality,stronger resistance and enhanced selenium enrichment can be screened,which provides a theoretical basis for the production of selenium-enriched tomatoes in selenium-deficient areas.The main results were as follows:?1?Red panicle could increased the plant height of tomato offspring,red rootstock could increased the root length of offspring,yellow panicle was conducived to the plant height and root length of offspring,yellow rootstock could improved the root length and stem base diameter.The yellow grafting grafting method increased the aboveground biomass of tomato progeny.Grafting increased the fresh weight of each organ of the offspring,increased the ratio of root to shoot,and enhanced the root activity of the plant,which was beneficial to the growth of tomato progeny.?2?In addition to red scion,grafting significantly increased the chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b and total chlorophyll content of their offspring.The carotenoid content showed an increasing trend.Except for the significant increase in chlorophyll a/b of red scion,the rest did not change much.The net photosynthetic rate,stomatal conductance and transpiration rate of plants were consistent with the total amount of chlorophyll.The net photosynthetic rate of red rootstock increased by 84.1%compared with red CK,and yellow scion and yellow rootstock increased by 238.8%and 306.3%compared with yellow CK.In general,the grafted offspring of rootstocks had the best effect on improving the net photosynthetic rate,transpiration rate and stomatal conductance of tomato leaves,and reducing intercellular CO2 concentration.Grafting could effectively improved the photosynthetic pigment content and photosynthetic capacity of the leaves of the offspring.?3?Grafting could effectively improved the SOD and POD activities of the offspring,and the red tomato grafting method was more improved.Red scion and yellow rootstock could enhanced the CAT activity of the offspring.Grafting in addition to the red rootstock could improved the body's GSH-Px activity,and the increased was high.The red scion was90.1%higher than the red CK,the yellow scion was 111.9%higher than the yellow CK,and the yellow rootstock was 296.3%higher than the yellow CK.Grafting could enhanced the body's protective enzyme activity,protected the body from lipid membrane peroxidation damage,and improved the resistance of plant offspring.?4?Red scion treatment reduced the soluble sugar content and relative conductivity of the plants.The remaining grafting treatment could effectively increased the content of soluble sugar,soluble protein and free proline,and reduced the content of malondialdehyde in the plant.Grafting could effectively regulated the osmotic adjustment substances in the plants and increased the resistance of tomato progeny.?5?In addition to red scion stems and red rootstock leaves,grafting could effectively increased the selenium content of roots,stems and leaves of plants.The yellow tomato grafting method could effectively increased the selenium content in the aboveground part.Selenium content of various organs:root>leaf>stem.In addition to the stem of the red rootstock,grafting could effectively increased the selenium enrichment of the rhizomes of the offspring.The grafting method of yellow cherry tomato could effectively increased the selenium enrichment of the leaves,aboveground parts and whole plants of the offspring,and the effect of improving the selenium enrichment of the offspring plants was optimal.?6?Grafting has little effect on the fruit shape,fruit moisture content and fruit color of the offspring,but it could effectively increased the hardness of the fruit.Yellow tomato grafting treatment reduced the weight of the offspring.Red scion treatment could effectively increased the soluble solids and soluble sugar content in fruits.In addition to the red rootstock,the titratable acid content decreased significantly.Scion treatment could effectively improved the vitamin C content of the offspring.In general,red scion treatment has the best effect on fruit quality.?7?The grafting treatment of red tomato could effectively increased the biomass of various organs in the fruit stage.The treatment of yellow scion increased the biomass of the roots and aboveground parts of tomato progeny and decreased the biomass of stems.The yellow rootstock treatment reduced or did not significantly differ in the biomass of each part.The selenium content of each organ has the rule of root>leaf>stem>fruit.Grafting reduced the selenium content in roots,and the grafting treatment of red tomatoes reduced the selenium content in the fruits and shoots of the offspring.The grafting method of yellow tomatoes had no effect on the selenium content in fruits and shoots.The red rootstock reduced the selenium content of the stem,and the yellow scion increased the selenium content in the stem.The scion treatment increased the selenium content in the leaves of the plants,and the rootstock treatment reduced the selenium content in the leaves.?8?Different grafting treatments had different effected on selenium enrichment in the fruiting stage of plant offspring.In general,the red tomato grafting method increased the selenium accumulation of the aerial part and the whole plant of the offspring,and the yellow rootstock reduced the accumulation of selenium in the aerial part and the whole plant.Excessive selenium content is not conducive to human health.The grafting treatment of red tomatoes could reduced the selenium content in the fruit and increase the accumulation of selenium,which will help to produce more safe and selenium-enriched tomatoes.
