Non-heading Chinese cabbage(Brassica rapa L.ssp.chinensis)is also called bok choi,'youcai' and green vegetable, etc. It is a kind of biennial plant with leaf on the ground as the product.Non-heading Chinese cabbage is widely cultivated with a long history and high nutritional value. And Jiangsu is the most important consumption and production area for non-headed Chinese cabbage, but there are still some problems such as low standardization. Therefore,in order to solve the problem in the cultivation of non-heading Chinese cabbage,we firstly investigated the cultivation techniques of non-heading Chinese cabbage in different regions of Jiangsu Province, and based on the analysis,we selected out the cultivation techniques with high yield and good quality.Through the optimization of seeding rate, fertilization type and fertilization amount,we finally found out a cultivation technique suitable for safe,high-quality and high-efficient production of non-heading Chinese cabbage. The main research is as follows:1 The typical cases of high-yield cultivated non-heading Chinese cabbage, specifically southern Jiangsu(Kunshan,Wuxi)and northern Jiangsu(Yancheng)regions, were selected to be investigated in both spring and autumn. And the surveys of main cultivation techniques of non-heading Chinese cabbage, including variety selection, seeding method and sowing rate, growth density, fertilization type and fertilizer amount, harvesting period, production cost and benefits were conducted. The results showed that there was no difference in the cultivation techniques in the spring and autumn seasons in Kunshan, and the seeding rate was 1kg/667m2,N-P-K fertilizer combined was applied at an amount of 25kg/667m2 and harvested in the form of Chinese little greens with a 30 days growth cycle from sowing to harvest;there was no significant difference in the cultivation techniques in the spring and autumn seasons in Wuxi. And 0.2kg/667m2 seeding rate was used. The form of transplanting was adopted with a 15 cm plant and row space.Organic fertilizer and N-P-K fertilizer combined were used and large vegetable was harvested with different growth cycle,45 days for spring and 50 days for autumn;there was big difference in the cultivation techniques in the spring and autumn seasons in Yancheng. The seeding rate during spring cultivation was 0.2 kg/667 m2 using manual spread.Organic fertilizer and N-P-K fertilizer combined were adopted and small vegetable was harvested with a growth cycle of 30 days. The seeding rate in autumn cultivation was 0.4 kg/667 m2 using manual spread or solid drilling. The organic fertilizer and the N-P-K fertilizer combined were applied, and small vegetable was harvested with a growth cycle of 35 days.2 In order to survey the effects of different cultivation techniques on the growth and development, yield and quality of non-heading Chinese cabbage in the same region(Kunshan)and select the safe,high-quality and efficient cultivation techniques, the non-heading Chinese cabbage variety 'Sijiqing' was used as the plant material. There were 3 treatments, specifically contrast(CK):a conventional non-heading Chinese cabbage cultivation technique in Kunshan with 0.96 kg/667m2 seeding rate and 20kg/667m2 N-P-K fertilizer combined;treatment 1(T1):optimized non-heading Chinese cabbage cultivation technique with a 1.73 kg/667m2 seeding rate and N-P-K fertilizer combined with a soil conditioner(pure N:6 kg/667m2,P2O5:3kg/667m2,K2O:3kg/667m2,soil conditioner:40kg/667m2);Treatment 2(T2):the preferred non-heading Chinese cabbage cultivation technique selected from the survey with 1.93kg/667m2 seeding rate and 40kg/667m2 N-P-K fertilizer combined. The results showed that, the yield, soluble sugar, soluble protein and Vc content of T1 were the highest, and the cellulose and nitrate contents were lower than that of the CK,but slightly higher than T2.In conclusion, the T1 treatment with 1.73kg/667m2 planting rate and N-P-K fertilizer combined with soil conditioner(pure N:6kg/667m2,P2O5:3kg/667m2,K2O:3kg/667m2,soil conditioner:40kg/667m2)has the highest yield and quality.
