The samples was taken from the Gansu Forestry Technological College,a total of 19 tree of six clones.Analyze it's the radial variation,the comparison between different clones and the clonal selection,it will provides a theoretical basis for the germplasm selection and breeding of Catalpa.By means of optical micro-imaging and computer microimaging analysis system,the anatomical properties were determined and analyzed by segregation process and section method.The physical properties were used by constant temperature humidity chamber to adjust it's humidity,Wood color measurement were used by chromatic aberration instrument,the main findings are as follows:(1)Near the pith areas(1 ? 2 rings),the distribution type of porus is diffuse-porus;from 3 ? 9 rings areas,the type is semi-diffuse;from 10 ? 13 rings areas,the type of porus is ring-porus.(2)From pith to bark direction: the trend of growth ring width and ratio of fiber wall thickness to lumen is increasing,then decreases;the fiber length is increasing,then it keeps stable;the ratio of fiber diameter to lumen presents the tendency of decrease,then it presents the decreasing trend;the ratio of fiber wall thickness to lumen presents the tendency of increase,then it presents the increasing trend;the vessel width keeps stable,then it presents the increasing trend;the fiber double-wall thickness and fiber width's variation is not obvious.(3)In the same ring of six clones in catalpa bungei,the fiber length,double-wall thickness,ratio of fiber wall thickness to lumen,vessel width,vessel proportion in early wood is bigger than in late wood,the fiber width,ratio of fiber diameter to lumen,fiber proportion in early wood is shorter than in late wood.(4)At the level of P=0.01,the growth width was negatively correlated with the fiber length,the double-wall thickness and vessel width in early wood,the growth width was negatively correlated with fiber length,double-wall thickness and the ratio of fiber wall thickness to lumen in late wood,and was positively correlated with fiber width,the fiber diameter to lumen and vessel width in late wood.(5)According to the classification standard of physical and mechanical indexes,basic density and air dry density is ? standards;air drying radial shrinkage,air drying strings shrinkage,all dry radial shrinkage and all dry strings shrinkage is?standards;air dried differences and all dry differences was in a moderate level.air dry volume shrinkage and all dry volume shrinkage belongs to a small range.(6)Between from the L *(lightness)value comparison,Luoqoiu number 1 is biggest;in the A * and B * value comparison,Luoqoiu number 1is in the medium.;in the E * value comparison,Luoqiu number 1 is the smallest.(7)Basic density,air dry density and dry density: sapwood > heartwood.L * value,a *,b value: sapwood > heartwood;E * value(color variation and stability): sapwood ? heartwood.(8)In terms of pulping and papermaking and fiber based panels,Luoqiu number 3 can be considered as the most preferred clone;Luoqiu number 1 can be considered as the highest priority clone in terms of building materials;When selected as flooring or furniture materials,Tianqiu number 2 can be considered as a priority of clones;In terms of material color index,Luoqiu number1 can be considered as the most preferred clone.
