Hylotelephium erythrostictum is a perennial succulent plant of Sedum L.of Crassulaceae, with a strong root crown.Due to its bright colors, strong resistance to stress,it can be used as a high-quality ornamental plant. However,in actual observation,it was found that the leaves of Hylotelephium erythrostictum in the cities such as Huhhot of northern China were often yellowish and thin, growth was retarded, and the whole plants showed poorly-developed,which affected the aesthetic appreciation and reduced the ornamental value. In addition,Hylotelephium erythrostictum had weak sexual reproduction ability of poor seed productions.Matureed seeds were rarely seen.Which limited its large-scale multiplication through seed sowing. It could only be expanded by vegetative propagation, but there was no complete plan for cuttings. Therefore,in this study, compound fertilizers were applied in two years of 2018 and 2019 to invest, the effects of different fertilizer treatments on the plant growth, stem traits, and leaf traits of Hylotelephium erythrostictum. At the same time,in an effort to improve its seed production,a various treatment including the application of compound fertilizers, trace element fertilizers and leaf spraying of plant growth regulators, were applied to examing the changes of seed yield components in responses to the treatments.Branches and leaves of Hylotelephium erythrostictum at different locations and growth stages were used as asexual propogation stocks under different rooting promotion treaments. The overwintering budding capacities of Hylotelephium erythrostictum under different fertilizer application was also studied. The results showed that:(1)The fertilizer treatments could effectively improve the horticultural characteristics of Hylotelephium erythrostictum.Specifically,it could appropriately increase the height of the plant, expand the width of the plant, and thicken the stalk, which not only enriched the beauty, but also improved plant growth under the adverse environmental. On the other hand,it could thicken the leaves, which could make the leaves look greener and fuller, highlighting the unique ornamental atraction of plants;(2)Plant growth regulators could increase reproductive branches per unit area, the number of inflorescence/reproductive branch, the number of florets/inflorescence to a certain extent, but had no effect on the number of seeds/floret and could not promote the formation of seeds;(3)Asexal propagation by branch and leaf cuttings could be used as main methods for plant multiplication.Among them, stem cuttings were recommended as a preferred method. The most suitable treatment combination was the use of peat soil:vermiculite ratio of 2:1,at the jointing stage, takinge the upper stem and dipping with the root powder solution.Post-cutting and cutting substrates were peat soil:vermiculite was 1:1.at the jointing stage of the plant, taking the upper stalk, dipping with the potassium indole butyrate solution;(4)The fertility of the soil could affect the number and weight of the overwintering buds of the plant.Increasing the soil fertility in the early stages of plant growth could significantly improve the rooting of the overwintering buds, with a rooting rate of more than 90%.Considering the cost-returns of different multiplication methods,it was recommended that winter buds could be used as a multiplication alternative in Huhhot..To sum up,the fertilier treatment could effectively improve the appearance characteristics of Hylotelephium erythrostictum in Hohhot and increase its ornamental value.Branches, leaves and overwinter buds coull be used as alternative multiplications in Hohhot.
